Fab or what!

OP posts:

Yes, Kate had a husband and. child at the end of series 1 but we didn't see much of them, assume she left to go into a hotel....after being confronted at home..I thought she was crying after her interview with Richard Akers and the realisation of how he and his wife had deceived over the money???? and the enormity of their deception in the affair. Cotton was tied up with Tommy in series 1.

here are my questions!

Who wrote the note We Know in prison?
did her mum really have a stroke naturally or was she threatened and had one as a result?
what happened to those evil original warders?
When Denton was in the van she pressed the communication intercom to speak at the exact time the van was rammed. did she know?
The vice squad coppers at the end are tied up with Carly's death. she was very much alive at the party. Did Dryden kill her or was he involved? he is very guilty about something. Why did he get rid of Liz White character, his original press advisor? thought the Chief Constable couldn't have looked less interested if he'd tried......

It is brilliant, as now Steve's boss can't dig into Dryden openly as has threat of losing his job and had promised his wife a cruise..everyone has a price and can be bought....

ps don't really see Steve as a tragic figure, just a decent copper who plays the field as a single man.

TheWomanWithTheMysteriousLump · 06/03/2014 08:37

If Denton dies then that's it - I'm out for series 3 But can we have nobody with tortured hands next series please? I'm also watching season 3 of Game of Thrones and I've had my fill.

I don't think she'll escape, I think Kate and Anott will sniff around the evil henchcops, they'll abandon the car and Denton will be found after an entire episode suffering.

truelymadlysleepy · 06/03/2014 08:40

Noooo, she can't die.

HazeltheMcWitch · 06/03/2014 11:26

Never before have I willed a Keeley Hawes character to live.
Keeley - mea culpa - I was wrong, you are a bloody good actress when you lose that stupid elocuted accent and you tone down the prig-ishness

Zingy123 · 06/03/2014 11:43

When Denton was in the exercise yard in prison she saw a black Range Rover enter the prison. Was this the one in the crash? Did they get the note there somehow?

Surely a prison van would be harder to get out of.

Loving this series, can't wait for next week.

truelymadlysleepy · 06/03/2014 11:48

I'm a bit confused
what was the 'we know' note?
do we think Mr Akers knew what his wife was up to & if so did Kate?
how is Carly connected to Dryden?
how come the bitch prison guards allowed her to stay all night, sympathy or overtime?

WalkingThePlank · 06/03/2014 12:14

Was rather chuffed that I was right about Carly going missing on 16th August and that Dryden was using the speeding ticket as an alibi.

Bloody good programme - hope the police aren't really like this!

WalkingThePlank · 06/03/2014 12:16

I was wrong about Hastings being one of the good guys. His price was met.

wintera · 06/03/2014 13:16

I think Kate was crying cos of what Hastings said about adulterers, that's what I took from it anyway. I can't make up my mind about Dot. He's dodgy of course but that doesn't necessarily mean he's involved in this business. Bit confused as to the way they are making out Arnott is irrisistable to women. First his new partner, then the nurse, now the other copper! There's only Kate and Keeley he's not been with now.

wintera · 06/03/2014 13:18

Oh and apparently the little boy on the stairs playing Kate's son is Vicky McClure's real life nephew. She said so on Twitter last night. I've been following her since This is England. She's fabulous.

carabos · 06/03/2014 17:21

I don't get how Arnott the dwarf is a babe magnet. Him and Lurch are like the Ugly Sisters.

whatevermaycome · 06/03/2014 17:37

Perhaps it's damage control from the BBC after Luther - let's face it, if we all thought policemen looked like that the crime rate would soar through the roof Wink

jaffacakesallround · 06/03/2014 19:14

On a slightly different note, I didn't realise that K Hawes was so tall- next to other women she is a strapping lass- must be 5' 9 at least.

wintera · 06/03/2014 20:27

Oh yes definitely, I'd say maybe even 5ft 10 something like that. I remember she was a model years back so she'd have to be tall. She's been great in this, nearly unrecognizable I'd say, she looks completely different. I must say the scenes with her Mum really upset me last night. My Mum suffered a stroke a few years ago and I was thinking what it must feel like to not be able to get to spend quality time with her in her hour of need. Found it quite unbearable actually.

Willemdefoeismine · 06/03/2014 20:54

When I just 'googled' her it said she's 173 cm - which isn't particularly tall???? Not sure that can be right???

Nr1LadiesDefectiveAgency · 06/03/2014 21:35

's all v v good and i luffs it.
but i think keely hawes is sooo going to die . this is the beeb after all - anyone on here watch & /remember 'spooks'? i don't know how many times i cried about yet another assassinated main character. ok maybe not actual crying. but still. sniff.

may need to resort to much Wine before tackling next week's episode...
Grin

Nr1LadiesDefectiveAgency · 06/03/2014 21:36
  • ^ keeley's character of course!!! Shock
ceeveebee · 06/03/2014 23:59

Just watched the last two episodes one after the other and can't wait for next week!
And how spooky - I just googled Keeley too to find out her height and just seen she has exactly the same birthdate as me!!

jaffacakesallround · 07/03/2014 09:24

I don't think she will be killed off because that would be the end of the series perhaps.

I also think if she was going to be killed it would have happened last episode - shot instead of bundled into the car.

What I want to know is was there just one man in the R Rover? And was he the same man who was then part of the pair who found her hiding in the woods? Their car had the motor cycle helmets etc in the boot so am assuming one held up the prison van and the other was close behind in the car.

Steve and Kate are onto those cops now, so I expect they will chase them down next episode and she will either imprisoned somewhere - then found- or she will escape from the car, go into hiding and then be found.
Not convinced she is 100% innocent and think there may a twist at the end that leaves us all wondering.

ihatethecold · 07/03/2014 10:01

I think that dot is involved somewhere, maybe not directly now but it's deffo shady.
I did wonder why they place so much emphasis on the bad relationship between the other unit, think they might be the financial investigators.
There really is no love lost between them is there?

I think Kate might be embroiled in this somehow, possibly innocently but she was shagging an accomplice and I think that will get out!

Great viewing though.

diddl · 07/03/2014 14:50

Dot is the one who Tommy referred to as "the caddy", isn't he?

Yes. Dot is "the caddy".

Abra1d · 07/03/2014 17:35

I have a bit of a crush on Adrian Dunbar. It started when he was in Richard III on TV a year or so back. He is very masculine in an old-fashioned kind of way.

Am I alone?

Abra1d · 07/03/2014 17:36

Sorry, Richard II, that should have read.
