Such a great show. I'm glad I re-watched the last episode of the previous season as so much is going on!

Ah, is that the 'Not very Brokeback Mountain' episode? That was the mid-season break in the US, so at least you will get to find out what happens next next week!

Very true, it's been really annoying having all the breaks in the American broadcasting - and then ABC wonder why the ratings aren't great! (there's been no new episode for about 3 weeks atm) I've been enjoying watching them again on more4 just because everything is nice and consecutive, with no random repeats thrown in to disrupt the flow.

Will: what a drama llama - standing in front of a train ffs.

For the record, I am watching & enjoying too. Avery is more sympathetic this season. I almost like his scenes with Scarlet.

Omg I hate Scarlett to an unreasonable degree. Get a fucking haircut you simpering twat. Bless Gunnar for escaping her soggy clutches but I can't even believe avery is with her when juliette is making her feelings known. If he chooses Scarlett I will be furious.

Well, Peggy's gone - not sure she'll be missed by anyone, other than Teddy. Can't help feeling Lamar's behind all that.....

There are a few other characters I don't really feel add anything to the show - Layla, for example - and I wish Scarlett would sort herself out and stop moping around; I have no sympathy for her. At least Luke Wheeler didn't make an appearance last night - someone else I really don't care for and don't entirely trust (and he has zero chemistry with Rayna). Megan - well, I just find her a bit 'meh'; much preferred Deacon with the vet in season 1. On the plus side though, Liam made an appearance in between swashbuckling in Westeros and getting all mixed up with clones in Orphan Black. Now he and Rayna do have chemistry.....

Unfortunately I think Scarlett's story arc is to be the 'good girl' who essentially gets chewed up and spat out by the demands of fame. She doesn't have Rayna or Juliette's hard edge (or Layla's, come to that) and I'm mystified why Rayna is hanging the future of her record label on her.

She was better when she was being strong and kicking Avery 1.0 into touch (Avery 2.0 obviously is a different matter). Now she has reverted to type it makes it very difficult to root for her as a character in adversity.

Scarlett needs to man up. I hate Avery and his greasy hair, but he was right when he pointed out that she was the one who dumped Gunnar.

Bored by Will and the sub-Brokeback stuff now.

I loved Juliette's read pleather trousers. Blush

Can not stand that supposed best friend of scarlet, who's with Gunnar. She's such a good friend we never heard of her in the first series.
But Scarlett's simpering ways get on my wick.

I'm hooked wondering how it's all going to work out. Will Juliet get her fans back? And will deacon release that song with maddie? What's going to happen!!!!!!???

Zoey's sudden appearance was retconning at its worst. And even then we only had an episode or 2 of Scarlett and Zoey being 'friends' before Z started shagging Gunnar and Scarlett felt even more hard done by.

I do like Scarlett, but she's a bit of a sad sack a lot of the time - the first couple of episodes in this season when she was being strict with Deacon and trying to get him to see the Dr. THAT was a more likeable Scarlett.

I love Rayna but I think she's a bit mad to be hanging Highway 65's success on her really - she's talented but can anyone see her as a multi-platinum country star a la Rayna or Juliette?

Was aghast at Rayna turning down Liam as she's "kinda seeing someone". Rayna, that someone is Luke...just...no. Urgh.

It's hard to get a read on him - he looks like a potato in a cowboy hat, and has zero chemistry with Connie Britton, so I just can't figure it out. I don't know if CB is deliberately playing the relationship with very little effect: on paper Luke is the perfect boyfriend and she wants to be into him, but is still totally hung up on Deacon.

I loved Rayna and Deacon writing together last night. Perfect. And then the Ruke and Layna conversation...blech.
