Such a great show. I'm glad I re-watched the last episode of the previous season as so much is going on!

Me too BookFairy. DH was rolling his eyes violently at Rayna's song at the Opry, but I loved it. So wonderfully cheesy, but not in a bad way Smile Maybe she should have waited just a teensy bit longer to announce her buyout plans to Jeff though.
Also wish she'd defended Juliette to Luke Wheeler's 'flash in the pan' comment - it would've been a nice thing to do.

BookFairy · 07/03/2014 18:54

I loved Rayna's song too :) I had a little lump in my throat Blush

BUT WE HATE SCARLETT ? team TRY and remember

EirikurNoromaour · 07/03/2014 20:17

I'm watching it now, welled up a tiny bit when rayna was singing and the crowd gave her a standing ovation!

noddyholder · 08/03/2014 07:10

Watched last night Loving the sister and dad storyline. I lovevscarlett. The music is fab. Still a bt in love with Avery

onedev · 09/03/2014 09:53

Since when did Avery & Gunnar become singing / songwriting friends?? Love the song but seems to have come out of nowhere.

andadietcoke · 09/03/2014 09:58

Ooh, I missed the thread for the first series but have watched up to ep14 of season 2. So good.

Think Connie is a producer so that might explain why she wangled extra soft focus. I hadn't noticed but I watch it on my 11" laptop!

IDugUpADiamond · 09/03/2014 17:02

My favourite music from the show always comes from Gunner. How's that even possible with a guy from Pembury?????

MyNameIsAnAnagram · 13/03/2014 10:49

Where can I watch episode 1 online? My fave show but missed the first one.

arp2411 · 14/03/2014 16:24

Scarlett's song with Deacon the other week was so good. Why did they choose a boring song about love for what was meant to be a showcase performance?

Jjou · 21/03/2014 11:43

Really enjoyed last night's episode. Last week's contrived polo match grated a bit, but last night's was back on track. Grumpy Deacon cracked me up (and the sweet awkwardness with Maddie at the end was lovely). Was very distracted by how pretty Connie Britton's hair looked throughout the episode though Smile

givemeaclue · 21/03/2014 12:46

Not finding Luke very attractive.

Jjou · 21/03/2014 13:12

Nooo, he's gross. And quite shifty somehow. Not seeing the attraction there really, other than Rayna trying distract herself with someone who's not Deacon. Having said that he's a step up from Teddy though, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

verytellytubby · 21/03/2014 17:17

I'm loving it!! Brilliant. I watched it twice last night

stringbean · 23/03/2014 09:14

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like Luke; really not sure what Rayna sees in him (other than his 700 acres and horse ranch or whatever). Maybe she views him as a sober successful version of Deacon, but there's none of the chemistry there. I agree Jjou - he is a bit shady; I find him a bit untrustworthy - not sure I can put my finger on it - but then Rayna's life seems to be strewn with untrustworthy men, so maybe she's just following a pattern. Will be interested to see where this one goes.

RedCountryRoads · 23/03/2014 20:24

I love this programme. Who would have thought the wife would have reacted by kissing Juliette rather than slapping her. I always look forward to this on a Thursday.

Jjou · 31/03/2014 13:33

Anyone watch last Thursday's?
I liked Rayna's little pep talk for Scarlett, but Scarlett definitely needs to dial down the woe-is-me act. Everyone she knows would kill for the opportunities she's getting.
I think Jeff was just messing with Rayna with that cover art; there was a twinkle in his eye at her horrified reaction to it.
Still not feeling the whole Luke thing, he looks all greasy. Deacon cracked me up: "Go fool them again"...heh.
And finally canTeddy and Peggy can go far, far away? That would please me immensely.

DustBunnyFarmer · 31/03/2014 20:23

Every soap needs proper hate figures. Jeff is a pantomime baddy of the JR Ewing ilk. Teddy and Peggy are lesser evils. Actually, there are parallels with classic 80s soaps, not least the lead characters with "daddy" issues, big hair, sparkly outfits, southern drawls, dirty money, big business... OMG, I'm totally watching an 80s soap. The noughties twist is the female leads.

donttrythisathome · 31/03/2014 20:40

I love Nashville, but this series doesn't seem as good as series 1. Missing the good music. I love Jeff. Useless fact - he is Goldie Hawn's son IRL. Don't mind Teddy either - he's sanctimonious and weak but well-meaning I think. Peggy is interesting I think - all that big eyed manipulation - probably a Southern stereotype.
My favourite character is Juliette - they do her vulnerability very well I think.

BookFairy · 07/04/2014 22:15

I'm really enjoying this season - feel like I'm in the minority!

verytellytubby · 08/04/2014 20:41

BookFairy I'm loving this season!

TheGirlFromIpanema · 08/04/2014 20:43

I love it too Bookfairy Smile

I swoon over Deacon and admire Raynas hair. What's not to love.

Also Juliet has grown on me this series.

donttrythisathome · 08/04/2014 21:35

I am really enjoying it, just not as much as series 1.

BookFairy · 08/04/2014 21:58

Rayna's Hair is sensational :)

Deacon singing with Maddie gave me a bit of a lump in my throat Blush

Jjou · 09/04/2014 10:23

I'm enjoying this season, I'm just discombobulated with it as I'm watching random episodes from the US when my sister gets them for me, and rewatching them all from the beginning on more4. It's screwing the timeline of what happens when in my head Smile

My favourite characters are Rayna, Deacon, Juliette, Scarlet and Gunnar, and Rayna's kids - overall the cast is too big and there's quite a few characters who just feel quickly written and chucked in there, and I would be quite happy not to have story lines focussed on them. Layla, I'm looking at you.
