Vera leaving the cobbles really made me blubbing. I'm not sure if Hayley's departure will make me feel the same?

Martin's still alive MrsSteptoe. Allegedly anyway, I'm a bit suspicious given he never shows up for anything including his son's wedding, grandchild's christening etc.

The residents of Coronation St are unusual in that they have a higher ratio of untimely deaths to divorces than the rest of the population. Multiple untimely deaths in some cases and multiple marriages are not at all unusual. In fact hardly anyone seems to die in the normal course of things.

Hopefully the much married Ken Barlow will be an exception in dying an unremarkable death offscreen at a reasonable age. Grin

As to what to do with a dead spouse, that lot have been widowed so many times they should open an undertakers never mind instruct one.

I have just read about Kevin coming back. I really don't see the point, particularly if it's going to mean a face-off between him and Tim to see who is the best caveman

I can't see what they can do with Kevin's character. Are Stella and co living in his house?

Didn't Roy Hudd play the local undertaker? I think he was one of Audrey's admirers.

Yes, Archie Shuttleworth wasn't he? He could really do with opening a branch in the street.

Place marking. I didnt like that they were all round at their flat. It looked too crowded and Roy looked so lost :(

How did Mark Bayliss get nominated for best newcomer in Corrie? He's fairly average surely and very annoying paired with Tracey. And has he been in it less than a year?

I suppose his competition was Jenna and her ma so not too surprising really.

Steve is the only one who's managed to divorce all his wives like a normal person.

Liz and Norris have been divorced not widowed.

Report

Wasn't Norris married to Derek's ex-wife (as in Mavis and Derek)? Angela or something?

Des something was married to Denise Welch. Des Barnes?

Report
squoosh · 24/01/2014 11:04

Des Barnes! He was meant to be a sex symbol! Grin

I think his first wife was called Stef? When they moved into the street they were the trendy upwardly mobile couple.

Stef is now the police chief in Scott and Bailey.

Des Barnes was married to Carla in real life.

I'm ashamed at how much Corrie trivia exists in my brain.

Report
RobinSparkles · 24/01/2014 11:12

Is Des Barnes' first wife in Scott and Bailey? Not Suranne Jones, the other dark haired one.

Whatever happened to that actor who played Des Barnes? I've never seen him in anything else. My mum saw him at Granada Studios once and she came home with an autograph.

Although tbh I think we've seen a lot of Corrie people at Granada Studios!
