Vera leaving the cobbles really made me blubbing. I'm not sure if Hayley's departure will make me feel the same?

I cried my eyes out!

Although I found Hayley's character very 'matter of fact' and not sympathetic to Roy? I really feel for Roy in all of this he's been amazing, I hope there are no repercussions for him.

I really liked the character of Hayley but I didn't think she'd have told him her plan. It would have been much kinder to have just done it surely?

The huge glass of fizzy stuff didn't seem realistic. Why have such a large glass full?

Poor poor Roy. Sad

I think Anna let them both in because she knew what was happening and she worried that Roy might have gone with Hayley.

The producer said in The Guardian at the weekend that Hayley would be seen choking on the poison. Poison - wtf?

Don't think in RL Hayley would have done it with the café still open, she would have waited for Anna to have locked up and gone and not run the risk of being interrupted.

purplepuppet that bit didn't make sense to me, why not wait until later in the evening? Carla is so annoying but I expect its some sort of plot device that they can drag out for months.

It was very sad. And well acted. I cried.

Was the stuff Hayley took supposed to be that same same horrible tasting stuff that they give at those scandinavian clinics? If so, where on earth did she get it?

chocoluvva · 21/01/2014 10:32

Roy's going to be accused of assisted suicide isn't he?

Hayley didn't plan this very well Sad Did she get feel that waiting was prolonging Roy's torture perhaps?

I cried too.

I might watch it again tonight, but it really didn't get to me at all, I felt nothing, it was rushed and spoiled by all the interruptions. What a let down.

I was just glad when the deed had been done. The storyline really annoyed me because I didn't think it was realistic for Hayley's character and it dragged on for too long. I thought Hayley was incredibly selfish to involve Roy when she knew how distressed he was about it. Why couldn't she have killed herself without telling him? I suppose it wouldn't have made such a good story. It left me very unconvinced.

I watched the second episode last night not having Corrie in years - where did she get the drugs from?

I was a bit disappointed because we didn't get to see her die Blush

If Hayley was on oral morphine, I'm no chemist but I imagine a new bottle would be of sufficient size for her purposes. Roy had just collected a new prescription, IIRC.

The glass and Hayley's insistence that Roy not touch it is going to be significant isn't it?

Report
womblesofwestminster · 21/01/2014 15:15

But it was poison wasn't it?

Report
ChubbyKitty · 21/01/2014 15:42

I also haven't watched Corrie for about 10 years but I had to watch it last night. I was really upset when fiz told Tyrone she was going to take Hayley something everyday like flowers or puzzles. I'm not sure why but that really got to me! Sad

I'm going to have to keep watching now to see what happens to poor old Roy.

MrsSteptoe · 21/01/2014 15:58

wombles I doubt it was poison in the Agatha Christie sense. I think it far more likely it was an overdose of medication which was hyperbolically described in one of the redtops as a poisoned cocktail.

But no one will be able to prove that Roy assisted her. When the others barged in, he could have just found her. She could have easily done it without him knowing.

BTW, is this the new Corrie thread? I was waiting for someone to start one but if not I'll latch onto this one!

Was just about to start a new Corrie thread but we could use this one either Jodie. Unless anyone objects!

I didn't cry and I thought I would. They ruined it with Carla and the other eejit barging in. Maybe had a sniffle at them lying on the bed.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/01/2014 20:25

I was also looking for the new corrie thread so seems appropriate to use this one!

I didnt like the barging in either but its obv a plot device, they're witnesses or similar if Roy gets prosecuted, although I hope that doesn't happen.

Its sparked a big assisted suicide debate though. Saw a woman on This Morning whos husband had ms and he comitted suicide while she was at work and she came home to find him :( she said if assisted suicide was legal she thinks he'd still be alive today.

So is this our new home, it's nice, (looks around, rearranges a few things, there that's better Grin)....I'm still bloody pissed off about the Carla and Anna thing, there was no need for it, I hope there isn't going to be a whole court case thing ala emmerdale (with Aaron and Jackson), it will drive me mad.

Report
NuggetofPurestGreen · 21/01/2014 21:46

Yeah we've already had this storyline in the other soaps, give it a rest.

I do love a soap funeral though Grin

I' m sorry to tell you that Sophie and Maddie (Sally's handbag thief) kiss next week. Yet another boring Sophie story!

I have just watched it. I cried. A LOT. Even though it's a soap you know there are 'real' people going through that.

He is such a good actor. It's not an easy part to play (Roy in general I mean). IRL there is no way, absolutely no way, I could cope with what Hayley did when she was quite so well still, as Roy said, there are plenty more chances for happy times... I understand how she felt, but IMO it was too soon.

I think it's ridiculous how sawfee's lesbian lovers appear within weeks of each other. She only got dumped by Jenna recently. It was obvious where this story was heading. I know lesbians in real life and know it can be hard to find a partner.

Report
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/01/2014 22:48

I can't believe Jenna is still around, what's the point? Surely she would have moved on by now and tried to get back into physio or something similar.
