Anyone watching? It is so slow. I'm not sure I'll be watching parts 2 and 3 or even the whole of part 1.

AlaskaNebraska · 26/12/2013 21:00

looked cack to me

minniebar · 26/12/2013 21:02

Do I need to have watched or read P&P to understand it do you think??

bisjo · 26/12/2013 21:04

I think you can watch it without prior knowledge as they are highlighting all the things they need to from P&P, eg Wickham's bad character etc. It really is dull though.

The book was so shit I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

LineRunner · 26/12/2013 21:05

I mean the PD James debacle, obvs.

Snardvark · 26/12/2013 21:06

It's shite. I've turned over to Big Fat Quiz.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 26/12/2013 21:08

definitely no need to have p&p knowledge.

it's definitely shit!

LineRunner · 26/12/2013 21:08

The plot denouement is really fucking boring anyway.

Philoslothy · 26/12/2013 21:09

It is very dull , can't watch anymore

LineRunner · 26/12/2013 21:09

In fact all you really need to have knowledge of is how to change the channel on your television.

scratchandsniff · 26/12/2013 21:12

I've turned over. Seemed like it's going to be dull and I usually love a period drama.

Theknacktoflying · 26/12/2013 21:14

With Trevor Eve it is just going down .... Assume a lot of shouting and bizarre plot twists

LaurieFairyCake · 26/12/2013 21:14

It's got Trev Eve so I'm sticking with it

LaurieFairyCake · 26/12/2013 21:15

I'd shag him

piratecat · 26/12/2013 21:15

it is very very dull. thanks for pointing it out, i am turning over too.

Theknacktoflying · 26/12/2013 21:15

Grin ...

LineRunner · 26/12/2013 21:16

The arrival of Eddie Shoestring would be far from the most anachronistic thing in the book.

feelinlucky · 26/12/2013 21:16

Turned it over. Load of old cack!

jonicomelately · 26/12/2013 21:16

Looked really boring so switched to BBC2.
no interest in racing cars but Idris Elba is presenting it

piratecat · 26/12/2013 21:17

lol it's finished anyway, i though it was on loner.

oh well back to watching dd play the Wii (sigh)

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha · 26/12/2013 21:22

I really liked it

LIZS · 26/12/2013 21:27

Have read the book and tbh the plot is pretty thin and it isn't really a detective story or a classic. They've changed it a bit for the adaptation and include annoying flashbacks for those who don't know the previosu saga. JA it is not.

madaki · 26/12/2013 21:27

I liked it too... And I loved pride and prejudice. I feel like if it was just a period drama without using the p and p characters I would have liked it more. Now, instead of just watching and enjoying it I am contrasting the way the characters are behaving with what I imagined those characters would do.
