How did he survive jumping of that building? How did he get all that blood back inside him? How did he survive being dead?! Shock

WARNING: Potential spoiler

LondonMother · 06/01/2014 07:07

Frankel, I think that's not so much a spoiler as a fairly obvious possible plot point they could come back to if they wanted to! I enjoyed last night a lot. I wonder what's in store next week?

LondonMother · 06/01/2014 07:14
. Now, this does have a big potential spoiler in it!
PedantMarina · 06/01/2014 07:32

Surely he was the guy who was watching the video at the end of season opener?

VikingLady · 06/01/2014 09:29

There is one episode from series 2 where Moriarty is deliberately released, which argues the real face off/rooftop scene was contrived with his brother's help and it was planned that way. I think.

PedantMarina · 06/01/2014 10:45

Or, perhaps the Jim Moriarty (punysexy - like that!) really WAS a contrivance but that the new guy really is Moriarty?

That would be straying far too much from the stories, I suspect.

When the original rooftop scene showed, I had pondered whether Moriarty had really died (blank in the gun, squib on the back of the head - would have been easier than "jumping off a roof").

lljkk · 06/01/2014 12:20

Definitely only 3 episodes in this series? That is rather few!
My favourite exchange was "I'm not John, Sherlock. I can tell when you're fibbing."

edamsavestheday · 06/01/2014 14:10

I think there have only ever been three in each series. It's a bugger.

FrankelInFoal · 06/01/2014 18:25

Yup, only ever 3 episodes per series. Steven Moffat was on Radio 2 this morning to say they all want to make more but Benedict and Martin are massively in demand for other projects so it's a question of de conflicting with their schedules. Odds are Series 4 will not be on tv till late 2015/early 2016 Sad

Sneezecakesmum · 07/01/2014 10:51
Sad

Resisting urge to watch trailer Grin

The two actors are very much in demand, the Hobbit film waited for the Sherlock filming to finish so they could get Martin back for the role!

OP posts:
OodlesofOods · 07/01/2014 12:42

Peter Jackson & Steven Moffat are probably having Martin Freeman on a timeshare basis Grin

diddl · 07/01/2014 16:34

Gosh-last one Sunday-& Troels is in it!!

PedantMarina · 07/01/2014 21:38

OK, here's a ponder:

The "mind thing" Sherlock was doing with all the women, where he narrowed them down to four (then five, as the nurse came back). Do we remember this? Fresh in our brains?

WHAT was the criterion for him narrowing down the first (huge majority), lot of women? It doesn't seem to be said overtly, but what could it have been? And how could it have been that and not run the risk of weeding out somebody who should have stayed in. Or is it just a major freaking plot flaw...

Also, a little nitpick here. It just plain took Sherlock too long to figure out the target - sorry, I had to say it out loud. Sherlock needs to be more clever than us - it's just the natural order of things, and it feels wrong when I figure it out before he does.

edamsavestheday · 07/01/2014 23:01

He was in the middle of the best man's speech though. Which is probably a bit trickier for him than for normal blokes.

edamsavestheday · 07/01/2014 23:03

(I may be confusing Sherlock with Sheldon Cooper, though. I mean, I know it was Sherlock in Sherlock, I'm not quite that batty, but Sherlock's social inadequacies are less... human than Sheldon's. Or at least, Sherlock appears not to give a shit about them.)

Lexilicious · 09/01/2014 08:46

He narrowed it down to five who had been on the same sort of date, with mayfly man. The rest were woo fantasists. When he says about the minuscule possibility of a link between the 100 people that got a wedding invitation and 5 who dated mayfly, it shows he was looking on "idatedaghost.com" for the five similar London dates.

It doesn't take him long to solve it at all. The flashback that happens in his speech (triggered by the photographer coming up to him) involving Mycroft in his head all takes place in the time it takes for the glass to fall to the floor. Then I think it's only about three laps of the dining room until he narrows it down to Sholto.

DH and I watched it again last night with a finger on the pause button to read the drunky word clouds. Interesting that Hudders (hee hee, seems disrespectful!) had the "marriage changes you" conversation with both Sherlock and John. Is she (sub)consciously warning them not to let their friendship slide?

Lexilicious · 09/01/2014 08:49

Not flashback, rerun of the dating women's messages, and deductions from them, and Mycroft interjections. That.

Sneezecakesmum · 09/01/2014 10:49

Yes, the 'target' was very obvious knowing as SH did that he received death threats.

I've given up trying to keep track of all the deductions and just go with the flow Grin

Also pause live TV to read the texts etc. Blush. Not because I am slow on the uptake (!) but it's small writing. Hmm

Oh no, the Sherlock team have been tweeting that the tag line for Sunday's episode is "Sometimes someone has to die" Shock

Sneezecakesmum · 10/01/2014 13:43

Tweeters are the devils disciples. Luckily when they do tweet it's usually a load of b***s or some kind of trick. Can't be Watson or Sherlock else bang goes the Conan Doyle connection. Surely not kill off the new wife?

I've still not watched all my dr who as I don't like seeing an old dr go!

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 10/01/2014 15:30

Ah but said Tweeters are Sue Vertue (producer) and Mark Gatiss, plus several of the support staff (set designers, etc). I don't think this will end well for Mary Sad

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 10/01/2014 21:07

OOOOOhhhhh oh oh... I`ve got it.

Mary and Sherlock already know each other. He hired her to protect John, then she fell in love with him. Thats why Sherlock didnt react when she mentioned the skip code, thats why she was a while getting to the table in the first episode. Its why her and Sherlock get on so well.

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 10/01/2014 21:20

But if they are actually tweeting that then it won't be any of the people you think it might be. Unless they are double-bluffing and so it DOES mean it will be one of the people you think it might be. Although they might predict that you'd think like that, in which case it would mean that it won't be any of the obvious candidates...

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 10/01/2014 21:29

That's why Mycroft knows where they are in the beginning.

FrankelInFoal · 10/01/2014 21:57

Make sure you avoid Tumblr for the next 48 hours. Apparently someone who was at the press screening earlier this week has given away all the spoilers for His Last Vow Angry
