MrsDV you are right, the making of this program isn't helping, it's point and laugh, not sympathetic, it's designed to promote outrage and segregate them from the rest of society more, thats not goiing to help them come unstuck :(

I could have cried watching this, we are on benefits and live on an estate but this is not our life. I'm so ashamed of the way people like us are portrayed in the media we are human we still have feelings and we are not all the same. Some of us are just trying to make the best of a bad situation these people are the minority but shows like this bullshit give more ammunition to the people looking at my family like we are shit on their shoes.

I am truly sorry for the stigma of unemployment my children are having to grow up under I can love them so much it hurts but I can't protect them from the sterotypes spread by politicians who spend more on one meal than I do on seven and media companies who could care less about the truth. I really wish I could give them everything they deserve but the jobs just aren't there and after programs like skint potential employers have already judged you and found you wanting the second they read the words long term unemployed on your C.V.

When it is normal to do your shopping from shoplifting addicts it's not surprising they start doing it themselves.

I am Shock, my judgy pant are well and truly hoicked. That is not about being poor, it shows a total lack of pride, respect, especially Connor. What a rude and nasty boy, his poor mum. Will that family stop having blooming kids if tey cannot afford to feed them.

They are just a bunch of scumbags. Scumbags can be skint or well off- its about values. I expect they were like this when he was working so its got nothing to do with being on benefits. It is really unfair on claimants who live their lives properly( iykwim).

They could have given a more balanced view.

And now the 'pitbull' is attacking people.....

Scunthorpe is being shown in a bad light here. This is a tiny bit of the the town. Most of it is surprisingly nice... open plan, huge parks and green areas, the new futuristic looking leisure centre. Drive through Scunny on any evening of the week and you'll see all the playing fields, tennis courts, athletics tracks all being used. Scunthorpe has a lovely community feel I think.

It's nothing to do with being poor or on benefits, these indivduals represent an underclass which give ripple who claim benefits a bad name. They are vile, not the type of people you want living near you

Oh my god, Connor is abysmal. The way he stood by the car finishing his fag. How how how can someone like that be persuaded that education and a job is a real and desirable prospect. (And I accept that sometimes it isn't).
