Well people live like this and it's all very well being at it but what good does that do? We will forget about this as soon as we've watched it, they'll still be living it forever.

My family were skint when I was growing up. It was hand to mouth. But if one of us 4 kids had told my mum to fuck off or indeed sworn at / in front of her ww3 would have broken out.

I was reading Agirlnamedjack's blog earlier. I'm not surprised she's got a book deal. Now there is someone with something informative and interesting to say. This program is trash so far but am going to stick it out in case it improves.

It's like shameless so far. Portrays our town in a dreadful light. We only live a few minutes from where it was filmed too. Haven't recognised anyone so far.

SgT I'm not about it at all, I've had plenty of contact with people like this and worse. I still think that the programme is very misleading, is suggests that skint = scum and whilst that is true is some cases it gives a very misleading picture.

Sgt you are right they will continue. But this program is not helping them. What would be useful is some intelligent analysis of the problem, some discussion of current policies, initiatives to solve it, what has been tried, what works, what doesn't. My issue is not the people, it's the lazy lazy program making.

Gosh, this girl seems pretty self aware. So sad.

All this program does is provide us with 'folk devils'.

I have had to switch over to the Greggs Documentary. I do not believe that 'documentary' was giving a balanced view of skint people.
