No, the walls steadfastly and stubbornly remained looking like concrete sheeting.

Oh no, it was horrible stuff. Shame they didn't use the same wood cladding that they'd used for the bungalow walls.

I wonder whether they will replace the concrete sheeting when they can afford it - I think I would use an untreated wood that would gradually mellow to silver as it weathered - that would blend beautifully with the surrounding woodland and fit their ethos perfectly.

Did they have an en suite in their tower bedroom - I don't recall seeing one on the plans, but was knitting at the time, so may have missed it. It looked to me as if there was an en suite in the guest bedroom on the floor below, but no actual bathroom for the master bedroom, which seemed daft to me. They could use the one in the guest bedroom most of the time, but would have to hike down into the main house if they had guests.

And I am not sure I would want to be so surrounded by woodlands - you wouldn't be able to see the zombies/maniacal axe-murderers until they were practically upon you.

I thought there was a bathroom on the floor below their bedroom - in fact the floor below looked more like a master bedroom. I suspect they will use the whole tower for themselves, and use the guest room in the old bungalow for guests.

And I agree that hardwood that is allowed to go silver would be much nicer than the concrete.

This week's house is so horrible.

it's soooo difficult to convert barns (or other large spaces) well. have only seen one on gd so far (the one with the wasp nest bedroom).
