I have been waiting for this for a very long time! :-)

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 29/09/2012 20:55

I think he is a one hit wonder, Aitch. Blink was brilliant. Nothing brilliant since.

And I disagree that he's cleverer than all of us.

RTD is cleverer than all of us.

Moffat can't sustain a plot arc, IMHO.

teejwood · 29/09/2012 20:57

Aitch am with you. I really like a lot of Moffs ideas - BUT I think the eps need at least an hour to "breathe". 45 minutes is just too short.

I LOVED River as always. Loved her lines, loved her vulnerability, loved her kickass-ness as always.

The cherubs were seriously creepy and the Statue of Liberty - hah! Of course no-one would spot it uprooting itself

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 20:57

but he has been dining out on those bloddy angels since Blink which I agree is an amazing episode

teejwood · 29/09/2012 20:59

And he gave us River.

Cap'n Jack was his too, no?

And Donna losing the true love of her life in the library - that was harsh. Not as harsh as what Rusty did to her, though, I'll give him that...

TheAngelshavetheOod · 29/09/2012 20:59

I liked the Statue of Liberty bits and the fact it should have been much scarier than the others due to its size but everyone ignored it!

TheAngelshavetheOod · 29/09/2012 21:00

Madame Pompidou was his too and the Gas mask zombies.

I agree with Aitch , episodes need to be longer and more often

Tee I think he leaves lots hanging.

Is that out of time constraints or slapdash approach, though? Or just he has too many ideas to fit it all in...

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:03

OK OK he gave us River and all the rest Im wondering if it is the Amy and Doctor combo that doesn't work ?

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:04

Capn jack was russel t davis

GlaikitFizzog · 29/09/2012 21:04

WHat about Rory's dad :( did he ever see him again?

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:05

I'm feeling a bit fick... where did Amy and Rory go to at the end? Did they live out their lives in a different time/place? Where/when was it?

They went back to new york to the same time just after the paradox and lived.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 29/09/2012 21:05

he is NOT a one-hit wonder, that's crackers. we've been watching the box set 1-4 recently and the moff's eps are the best of every series.
however i couldn't agree more that he needs double episodes to breathe, and at the very least another fifteen minutes. even the episodes that he's showrunning (and presumably has final edit over) seem absolutely crammed in the last fifteen, i've been really conscious of that over this last lot.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 29/09/2012 21:05

Jack was first written by Moffat I thought.

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:06

I do think they need to put less in the episodes and for longer it is just too busy and rushed,

Tee2072 · 29/09/2012 21:06

I think he has too many ideas and can't seem to edit his own work.

All of last series proved that. It made no sense in the end.

Of course, RTD gave us Children of Earth which was, IMHO, horrible.

teejwood · 29/09/2012 21:06

MrsJay but Cap'n Jack was the empty child episode was he not? Which was Moff's Confused

Glaikit I was wondering when he was going to tell Brian, too.

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:06

was He i thought It was RTD who invented jack ,

teejwood · 29/09/2012 21:07

Tee surpassed only by Miracle Day.

Early Touchwood was fun, though

Figgygal · 29/09/2012 21:07

Well as much as I've never been a fan on Amy I just cried buckets more for the dr than her and rory......I love Matt smith

Tee2072 · 29/09/2012 21:07

Yes, Moffat created Jack. Or at least wrote 'The Empty Child'.

Mrsjay · 29/09/2012 21:07

captain jack was in Doctor who when christopher ecclestone was the Doctor .

Tee2072 · 29/09/2012 21:08

No, they went back to 1928 NY or whatever year it was and lived from there.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 29/09/2012 21:09

Am sure RTD credited Moffat with Capt Jack
