oooooooooooooooooooooooooh. you are good at the timey-wimey stuff, soup.

SoupDragon · 13/09/2012 15:48

That is because I am a time lord. Dragon. Something.

teejwood · 13/09/2012 21:12

Helloooo everyone! Can't believe we're 2 eps in and I'm only just posting. Tbf, I had one prepped but mn went offline at the wrong moment and it went pooof!

Anyway, loving all the comment and conjecture. Re Oswin: Given the current predilection for different beings to shack up together - eg Being Human - is it possible the new companion is going to be less a case of timey-wimey and more a case of ghosty-whosty? It would come in useful when the sonic can't open a deadlock bolt - or wood. She could just waft through...And it would tie in beautifully with the Ghost of Christmas theme.... although tbf the Scrooge theme was played out already 2 years ago.... Hmm

It's just that it seems a bit obvious to do the whole thing of the doctor meeting a future companion as she gives her life for him (a la River).

And yet, and yet.... that clip of Oswin being turned into a dalek looked like she was being forcibly turned by the daleks, rather than being turned into a dalek because of the virus on the asylum planet. But we have seen before that the daleks were repelled at the idea of using humans to make daleks (Daleks in Manhattan - I know you probably don't want to remember but it is necessary!) so that seems - odd. Of course, it could just be that Moff has jettisoned that part of the mythology. In which case fair enough, it's just saddos like me who will find that wierd. Or maybe I missed something. The DCs were ignoring my stares of death and chatting through the ep anyway...

Sorry to hear Moff has quit twitter - some people really need to get a bloody life (say the woman who just mentioned Daleks in Manhattan Wink).

teejwood · 13/09/2012 21:15

Oh and the other thing - in the DT ep with David Morrissey and Dervla Kirwan - there was that line about how everyone would know the doctor's name and yet they didn't and the doctor seemed puzzled by that. There was a suggestion at the time iirc (by over-enthusiastic fans rather than RTD or SM) that that would eventually play out in the storyline. It popped back into my mind when we had the old "Doctor Who? quip.

OodHousekeeping · 13/09/2012 21:20

Can someone explain the schedule for this year? Is it 2 more then break for strictly until Christmas?

FrankelSaysRelax · 13/09/2012 21:22

Ood, it's 3 more then break until Christmas Day.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 13/09/2012 21:53

ROAR at not wanting to remember daleks in manhattan. worst. episode. ever.

think the final ep is angels in manhattan, isn't it?

OodHousekeeping · 13/09/2012 21:53

Thanks. Dont like the split seasons, get too confused

teejwood · 13/09/2012 22:04

Oh Aitch, have you just made a connection to fuel some fevered speculation Wink

Seriously, though, am hoping Angels is better than Daleks. Could it be worse??

Oh and yy to being Envy for another year that you are ahead of us all!!

Agree with you Ood, the split season is irritating - but what are they doing for the 50th?? A mini feature film or another full season next autumn?? We can't possibly have only 6 eps next year - it's against the law. Or should be.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 13/09/2012 22:31

ha! no, i got it wrong. it's called the angels take manhattan. but still... manhattan. they could have called in new york if they wanted real distance.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 13/09/2012 22:36
teejwood · 14/09/2012 09:05

at real distance Grin

Aitch my dd watched that video over my shoulder and immediately turned round to me and cried "I didn't blink, mum!"

They are so overdoing the Amy will die schtick that I would love it to be a red herring. But I felt the same way about Melody being River last year and was disappointed!

teejwood · 14/09/2012 09:11

It's also funny seeing that clip of the doctor embracing Amy and sniffing her to make sure she's not a ganger Grin

OodHousekeeping · 14/09/2012 09:21

Ooh at Aitch link!

SoupDragon · 14/09/2012 11:37

I am so looking forward to the Angels so I can terrorise the SmallDragons by creeping up behind them and freezing in a menacing pose.

Fiderer · 14/09/2012 11:46

We got an Angel mask in a DW comic once. Bloody terrifying.

I threw it away eventually as I was fed up of being terrorised by my 3 creeping up behind me and freezing in menacing poses Grin

SoupDragon · 14/09/2012 12:01

I did it to reduce the fear felt by DS2 and to turn it into a joke and not because it was damn good fun. Oh no no no

SoupDragon · 14/09/2012 12:01

And I absolutely did not hide several dolls house figures in his room following that dolls house episode...

Fiderer · 14/09/2012 13:06

The dolls and you are equally scary Grin

Am glad my 3 are too old now for it's-a treat-over-priced-DW-activity-packs at the airport.

I haven't had the heart the throw out the DT figure or the Ood, though.

Did I tell you about the time I took DS up the local cemetery after watching 'Blink'? No?

Tee2072 · 15/09/2012 19:36

Grin line.

Hi all, BTW...

FrankelSaysRelax · 15/09/2012 19:39

Marking spot

OodHousekeeping · 15/09/2012 19:40

Am in. Might have to pause for a bit so will be running behind you.

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 15/09/2012 19:40

Back to the Future III meets The Terminator....
