Turn Left is my favourite episode, it makes me cry - but then so do most things! I always cry at the last two parter that Rose is in too, every blummin time.

I think River works brilliantly with MS. I'm ready for the circle to close on the River story and see the time when she gets taken to the singing towers. Even though I love her!
On forgetting Rose, Thank God! All that whining in series 3, with Martha there was annoying! He's supposed to be hundreds of years old,yet he falls in love with a teenager and then moons over her for years! It would be like me pining over someone I went out with once and then dumped. (I think he did dump her. He could easily have taken her back into his universe if he wanted!)

choccy it was something about her attitude being lodged with the Italian family - I'll need to watch it again, I dont know if it was a general dislike of 'the norf' being a Londonner, or whether it was the family itself... there was just something about her attitude that made me uncomfortable.

I really didn't like Catherine Tate at first, I saw her as very one dimensional and kept expecting her to break into 'who dear? me dear? gay dear?!' she did proove me wrong, Donna is definately my favourite from the POV of the companion representing 'us' and i'm middle aged and lardy

I love Alex kingston. where I'm getting a bit tired of all the doctors companions being sassy/fiesty, theres just something about River. If I have to confidence-trick myself into a date or presentation or something, I channel my inner-river.

but wasn't that exactly the way that the unreconstructed never-net-the-doctor donna would have behaved? i thought that was the point? and 'the NORTH!' was a hilarious line...

re the pining for rose, i always felt that they missed a trick by not having the doctor being quite angry that he left her with another man. very noble and all that, but what a pisser.

'the unreconstructed never-net-the-doctor donna' - i agree, but that Donna is kind of always there - I think people change when they meet the doctor, but the base-line is integral. the Donna that cried at Oods ('oh god! your FACE!') is still a bit scary - theres a really mardy side to donna, I wouldn't pull her up in public, she'd rip my face off.

but aitch he knew that she'd get old and he'd regenerate and change - it's like poor Sarah Jane, always waiting, never marrying and having children - 10.5 was a nice, neat little compromise for them both...

amy is bloody annoying, though... her constant pre-menstrual anger is almost as bad as simpering.

I kind of liked that he walked away hiding his 'pain' I never liked Rose, if it had been me, I'd be skipping back to the tardis and off to find River. :)

I tried googling for the second doctor blog but couldn't find anything, I've not heard of it before but thought it sounded good and fancied a read.

I'm not sure Rose and the second doctor could ever really be satisfied together, I don't think the doctor would quite have the same appeal working 9-5 and moaning about his shirts not being washed. The doctor without the tardis wouldn't do it for me. He'd be resentful and bored pretty quickly I'd think. Unless he somehow managed to build a replica of a tardis, like on that episode with house and the tardis in human form. Or maybe he would join Torchwood and save the parallel earth. I need to know what happens!!

It was really good, he got into all sorts of scrapes. Whoever was behind it had Donna and her fiance blogs too. People really got into it in the comments which was funny. It was a liveblog but that's as much as I can remember

Just catching up with this thread. Watched the latest episode whilst holiday in Dorset but need to watch it again as very small tv and uncomfortable furniture.
