I like it, so far. Feel like its abit like Homeland, in that the actress playing the wife looks too young.

I would do that... Sad

TheNightWatch · 18/06/2012 23:04

Did he actually give her the money?

OP posts:
LST · 18/06/2012 23:04

WTAF! Is that it? Has it got it out of his sleazy system now?

Icelollycraving · 18/06/2012 23:04

Lst :(

LST · 18/06/2012 23:05

IceLolly- I've never been in that situation. But I would never be strong enough to be on my own..

Icelollycraving · 18/06/2012 23:09

Well I'm crossing my fingers you never find yourself in that scenario.
Being on your own has its own rewards. Who knows really until you are there.how you'd react?

SwedishEdith · 18/06/2012 23:12

David Tennant's children were called Darren and Lorraine Shock

tomatoface · 18/06/2012 23:14

what a load of rubbish. it was shite. totally unbelievable. I didn't believe any of the characters 'I love you' come ooooon. He just wasn't credible at all

so disappointing

crazynanna · 18/06/2012 23:17

Missed the beginning...how did he meet the blonde?

It's not on for long is it Confused

Ashley Walters is shaggable

Icelollycraving · 18/06/2012 23:18

He saw her at a bus stop & they had eye contact, waves & then he chalked up meet me...at the bus stop.

teejwood · 18/06/2012 23:20

Is it just me or is it really not surprising the scriptwriter is male? Two samey samey stories. Completely unbelievable characters. A short time slot, so we really don't have the build up (in terms of plot or dialogue) to invest in the characters. And agree the improv hasn't really worked - the script really needs to be tighter. But fundamentally, the plot really does not suit the timeframe. Really disappointed, all in all. Can only hope the remaining eps are worth it.

noddyholder · 18/06/2012 23:22

It is a good idea in need of a script. The improvisation is just not good enough. And so far the wronged women have been so so compliant

Icelollycraving · 18/06/2012 23:24

I felt it was better tonight but still disappointing. I should have tried that in my single days "I love you,my mum owes 5k"
I haven't ever sized up a carpet right salesman as being a good prospect for a few grand.

crazynanna · 18/06/2012 23:30

oh thanks Ice...I just saw it where they met on the seafront and she said "Hi I'm..." and then they were in a room shagging.

TheNightWatch · 18/06/2012 23:31

The acting is terrible and, I dont think its because its improvised.

I dont rate Billie Piper either and Ive got to sit through a full hour of it tomorrow. I will see it through until the end!

OP posts:
LeB0F · 18/06/2012 23:41

I'm not sure I want to watch tomorrow's. I already feel irritated that the preview is portraying a class of teenagers chanting "Lesbian" repeatedly at a teacher as perfectly feasible.

whereismywine · 19/06/2012 17:22

Just watched both on iplayer. I loved the advert for this. How let down am I?!
Is this Valid Reasons For Cheating On Your Wife (forgiveness guaranteed)? So its ok to have an affair if the love of your life randomly reappears? Or if your wife isn't fancying much sex with you? And how likely are either of these scenarios. If a love from 17 ago years turned up at my work, I wouldn't even feel I knew them! And they probably wouldn't look exactly the same, what tosh.

I think there are some cracking actors here and I've enjoyed watching them but the stories, improvisation and holey plot are frankly pretty poor. Affairs in relationships are complex, painful destructive things and would provide a much deeper and thoughtful plot than the one dimensional 30 minutes here. What a shame. And the music got on my tits.

ThisAintKansas · 19/06/2012 18:22

What a letdown last night's one was.

And I bloody love AW, usually. He is ridiculously sexy and usually gives a really deep, nuanced performance and is stupidly hot as I said previously. But this was just...crap. A rehash of the previous night's storyline. And my god, the dialogue is just CRINGEY. You can tell it is all improv. Hideously bad. And the characters are flimsy. And I didnt believe for one second AW fancied Jaime Winstone. And..and..and...just really poor.

I think the mkers of this think it is clever and arty, but it just comes across as a crass amateur affair and an apology for creepy, married shaggers. Oh dear.

I a deffo watching Billie Piper's schoolgirl lez one, though Wink.

HilaryM · 19/06/2012 18:32

Alison Graham is brilliant in this week's RT about lazy drama 'for women' to distract the non football watching masses. She is very good.

cybbo · 19/06/2012 18:33

I stuck with it although I'm not sure why....was like a GCSE Drama production.

he IS hot though

TheNightWatch · 19/06/2012 18:35

I just cant take to Billie. I feel like Ive condemmed it already Smile

If we have to have any more of that soundtrack and grey skies, Ill have to open a second bottle of wine.

I dont know who thought thirty minutes was a good time slot. Ive seen more action in an episode of Corrie.

OP posts:
slalomsuki · 19/06/2012 18:51

I thought both of the episodes were very poor improvisation or not! Scripts the same, endings rushed and no arguments from the wife.

Will watch tonight's one tomorrow on iplayer if I feel inclined.

miaowmix · 19/06/2012 18:55

IT's a kernel of an idea crying out for a decent script so far.
Big problems with the casting for me - twice so far 'other women' are far less attractive than the wives, making it even less convincing as a scenario. I can't get beyond the fact that nobody is ever around to witness the cheating either. Club scene v cringey.
But obviously I will be watching them all, if only to see how they link up.

HappyJustToBe · 19/06/2012 19:36

Just finished watching the second episode and agree its disappointing. For me it's not so much the acting but the sentiment. Man cheat, women forgive. So samey as previously said.

won't stop me watching again and hating myself for it

bunnybing · 19/06/2012 20:00

Agree re Alison Graham - she was rather piercing about improvisation - there's a reason why scriptwriters exist.
