I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws

It was broad daylight when he delivered the pizza to Kirsty and Tyrone, which I thought was the end of his shift, dark when he crashed, so it must have been quite a bit later (I was crocheting while I watched so may not have been paying full attention though). But yes, if anything the firm's insurance should be pursuing Tommy, not the owner. I was expecting the police to take a bit more interest too, he could have killed someone.

Actually I have noticed a few times recently that it has been broad daylight / dark out of sync with what I was expecting.

Incidentally no mention of little Jack's 2nd birthday. (I remember as Molly went into labour a few hours before me- my dd was born and then after the weekend Molly had Jack). Anyway I did wonder if they were making Kirsty hold out until the same day to give a horrible coincidence but it passed without mention.

Good spot! Tyrone has totally detached himself from Jack. He doesn't have much luck with the mothers of his children does he?

I am actually really disappointed with whatsername - stellas mum. Terrible acting and appalling entry. V fed up with it all now

I thought Gloria was good and am looking forward to how she might develop. But - I hate that they still think its ok to have scenes were a woman slaps a man (when Gloria whacked Karl). It wouldnt be acceptable to show a man slapping a woman like that. And with Corrie currently running a male domestic violence storyline, it felt really wrong to me.

What's the back story with her and Leanne? Why were they estranged? How come she knows Eva when Eva is so much younger than Leanne?

Agree about the slap, very uncomfortable. The whole scenario about finding out about Karl, going to see him then getting him back to the pub was so rushed it was more slapstick than dramatic. But I reckon she's going to make a good Blanche replacement.

Stella left Les when Leanne was a baby so she didn't know her. I don't think that she knew Eva.
Will Karl leave Sunita?

Why didn't Gloria know Eva, Ken ? Surely she's known her all her life?

I thought Eve and Gloria greeted each other as if they did know each other?

Will Sunita realise the error of her ways and kick Karl out? Did they manage to pay Dev back?

Not sure about baby dobbs as a name though.
Bloody hell Izzy and Gary are already being overprotective. why can't she go? she's not eighteen so they haven't started trying, if they are that worried, why can't they delay? Also after a quick internet search most say that flying is safe during first trimester (morning sickness might be worse though).

Eva does know gloria, she's her gran. she only doesn't know Leanne as she was left with les. I don't think gloria and stella were estranged, gloria just lived in spain.

I thought he was a sonographer. Could have sworn he did someone's scan (violet?).

Kirsty gives me the creeps. I dont like them rushing the storylines but equally I can't wait for this one to end.

AFAIK Marcus has always been a midwife.
You'd have seen him doing scans (which I thought the Sonographer did) .

(It's like the doctors in Doctors - Heston managed to deliver a baby single handed after a woman wandered into The Mill at closing time.
Most of the GPs where I worked wouldn't do an injection or a dressing, let alone deliver a baby )

From Wikipedia I'm not sure at what point he decided to become a midwife though.

My recollection is that when Marcus joined he was a sonographer however he said that he had initially been a mid-wife. He claimed to have changed career as women did not like male mid-wives.

As ever, another annoying soap birth - are there any that take longer than 5 minutes? And don't even start me on the fertility story lines - one problem and they give up without seeking medical advice (becky, izzy). I'm still waiting to hear how izzy & Garry intend to pay for their treatment. Oh yes and then there are the miscarriages- in the first few weeks and you seem to get an extended hospital stay (lianne & izzy). A month or two from birth and weather field general has you out within hours (Tracy)!

Awwwww, tears in my eyes when Tyrone was talking to his baby girl - we all know in Soapland its not gonna happen... Agree that soap births completely unrealistic - where is teh puke and poo Loving Gloria. Yes she is a bit un-hewn just yet, but she's gonna be good - she is getting some fab lines - I wanna be in Corrie and have her lines!!!! Also liking the Tracey/Ryan story - providing some real Corrie fun scenes, sheer escapism...

I agree about the rush to surrogacy. Izzy hasn't even found out if the miscarriage is linked to her disability. I think a better storyline would have been the struggle a disabled woman has with pregnancy (if any). Instead it gives the impression disabled women can't have babies.
