I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws

had to guffaw at sunitta bristling at the woman with dev being too obvious for her liking, after subjectting us to weeks of "sexy Sunitta"

Sunita wanting to go the the Rovers was yet another shite plot line. Plus Gail and the serial killer smile over the sleeping fireman.

The rush with everything is annoying. I couldn't believe it when Izzy and Gary discussed adoption in one episode and were at an information evening at the next and told there and then not to bother!

Mind you, the writers can't even wait 9 months for babies to be born. They always come early (and dramatically!)

good to see lloyd and steve together again (have a soft spot for lloyd since he was in red dwarf )

presume the smoke alarms is going to trigger something? some danger to some kids, then fireman rescuing them???
Why has addi got a skinhead cut when the rest of the the family have vast quantites of hair? Have i missed a 'nits' storyline?

Just been having a marathon catch up after being away last week.

Izzy and Gary - far too fast. For the first and probably last time I agree with Owen, although his tactics haven't been great. It's not as if they were even planning to have a family when Izzy fell pregnant, surely she should be having counselling before making any rushed decisions. I would hope no surrogacy clinic would let this proceed at this speed.

Dev - why on earth haven't you closed the joint bank account?

Sunita - reality is starting to sink in now isn't it?

Stella - your daughter may be particularly dim and needy but she really doesn't deserve what it looks as though you are about to do.

Paul/Gail/Eileen - cringe, what a silly story.

I also like seeing Lloyd and Steve together again, also Steve and Michelle, but wish Ryan would just clear off again.

Gail had fantastic plots and now they keep writing her off as a loon.

How does the factory justify/support so many managers and supervisors?

How do you just walk into a business and start running it?
Is Eileen still working at the factory or on the switch at streetcars. if she's on the switch she could synchronise her shifts with the fireman

Yes, this has been bothering me, how is it possible for people with no experience whatsoever to keep taking over and running the factory? Carla - ex lady of leisure, Michelle - ex pub singer/barmaid, Rob - ex-con. Seems the only qualification is to be related to the Connors.

Also, who are all these customers? I can't remember the last time I saw an independent underwear shop and they are clearly not selling to the likes of M&S.

Eileen got the sack for going to Lesley's funeral I think, she is on the switch when Ryan isn't.

I've been away for a couple of weeks and have no idea what's going on and just checked the listings - Emmerdale but no Corrie tonight because of fecking football!!! Grrrrrrr!

God I hate that Kirsty. Bad actress and horrible character. Write her out!

THe kebab shop featured regularly when Sinbad and family were there, then Dev bought it off them and it's been as if it never existed for about 2 years till they needed it for another very far fetched plotline

Was Corrie on tonight? Can't see it on catch-up.

I don't think it was on, the last one my Sky+ picked up was on Weds.

Kirsty is awful isn't she, poor baby having to listen to her shouting all the time from in the womb.

Ha - good point about the factory. How these people have the necessary experience to run a business (and look so confident about it?) when they've been in completely different, unrelated jobs beforehand!

Also, most of the new characters are on the show for a couple of weeks then automatically get a job as a machinist - how weird - does everyone in Weatherfield know how to us a sewing machine? i know i'm sad
Personally, I couldn't master how to thread the bobbin!!

I'm not enjoying Kirsty bullying Tommy and Tina and I hate storylines where the bad things just build up. e.g. their flat is sold, Tommy having to work two jobs, accident as too tired, loses job, has to pay for damage to van etc. I just want Kirsty to be found out and T & T left alone and friends again with Tyrone.

Stella's mum and Rita/Stella's mum and Gail/Stella's mum and Eileen/Stella's mum and Tracey - so many good potential scenes!

Lee I know what you mean - v unlike me I even tried to google what happens so I don't have to worry about Tina and Tommy anymore! (didn't find anything out though!)
I hate Kirsty but for that reason I think she's a good actress - you're meant to hate her. She reminds me of mean girls that I went to school with - she's quite scary really esp as she's v tall and intimidating.
Plus Tommy has a great puppy-dog look.

The story about Tommy having to pay for the damaged van is stupid though, yes his employer can sack him but I doubt legally he could force him to pay for the van, he should have insurance for that.

How can the employer know that he didn't crash as he was finishing his pizza runs? He didn't drive very far.
