I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws

I thought Rita liked him too but then Derek? appeared.

Mavis - Thelma and her onscreen DH ....were being interviewed on the This Morning programme today. Not sure what it was about..maybe they're coming back into Corrie or working together elsewhere I couldn't quite catch what they were saying..bloody window cleaner!!

I don't like the new version of Ryan very much, he comes across as a bit of a wanker but maybe that is how they intend the character to be now?

Didn't he (Norris) appear because he was married to the dreaded but never seen on screen Angela, who had also been married to Derek?

He was in love with Rita for a long time but she would have walked all over him!

Ruby Thank you I was trying o think who Ryan was - Michelles Son. Ahh!!! When Michelle said that her Son was coming back for the Summer I thought that is her characters exit for a few weeks, I didn't add he two up. Face transplant time.He is a creep, tried to get off with Sophie.

That is correct Whoknows ahh those were the great days of Corrie. Angela was in the programme too for a time, great comedy. Poor Derek collapsing under his paperclip car. :(

Was she? I don't remember ever seeing her, but it was a long time ago now and she was certainly memorable. Imagine marrying both Derek and Norris! So many good characters gone now. There were some rubbish storylines even in the good old days though, remember Derek and the missing gnome?

Haven't seen the new Ryan yet, it was bad enough having the switched at birth thing without changing actors.

Yes that was Des! He had some juicy storylines too. I miss Curly Watts and Raquel, when they were reunited that made me cry!!!! I never cry at soaps. EVER. okay sometimes

And now . . . . . hasn't mentioned her biological son in aaages! So annoying.

Norris declared himself to Rita didn't he - a few years ago - and she had to tell him that she didn't feel the same way....was really beautifully acted. I remember it well.

JUst joining this thread to voice my disappointment in the new Ryan. He's had a complete personality transplant since he was last in it. He was always a nice quiet boy, wasn't he? NOw he's back and causing trouble and being a complete dick.

It's bad enough that they change the actors, but to turn the character into a completely different person is just a bit crap really.

And, while I'm on here and have no one else to talk to, why does Leanne have all the control over Simon and what happens to him? And why did she and Nick (and blardy Stella) think it would be absolutely ok to move away?? As if it's ever ok to just swan off and take a child from its loving parent like that.

The Leanne thing is annoying me too, I don't know if they have got any formal agreement over Simon's residence (I doubt it) but even so, does she really think it's ok to get together with an old flame and move Simon away from his Dad at a moment's notice? She doesn't really have Simon's best interests at heart does she?

Yes Ryan's personality transplant is so stupid and predictable.

He was a nice boy it's such a cliché to turn him into a prat. Like all of Mike Baldwin's 200 prodigal sons.

Agree, can't abide Leanne ATM. I wished Simon had sailed off into the sunset with his dad.

She's so self-righteous. I know Peter's far from ideal, but she is a former drug-addict, prostitute and arsonist is she not? Who had an affair, shacked up with the guy at a moment's notice and decided on a whim to take the child away from his only natural surviving parent.

I keep wanting to shout "You're not even his mother!!!"

She's a right nasty piece of work, that one. I wish our Toyah would come back into it.

And I agree with the Bring Back Toyah campaign, she was great. Wonder if she's still with Spider. Aww I liked Spider too.

Simon needs a clip round the bloody ear, so does that Faith little shites the pair of them.

I'm still about 3 episodes behind, sounds as though Leanne does have a residence order. Wish the whole lot of them would sail off together.

Tyrone and Kirsty is fascinating but uncomfortable watching, this could turn out to be a really good storyline if they play it right.
