I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

Peter's decision was from one extreme to the other. Hwvr I think he did the "crumbling to floor" move pretty well. I think he's one of the better actors on the street, as is Leanne - her crying is always very good and never seems to stop.

Nancy66 · 14/06/2012 08:47

iamme - yes Carla's husband was one of leanne's clients in her hooker days.

GnocchiNineDoors · 14/06/2012 09:22

But why didnt he suggest shared custody? Unless deep down he doesnt think Simon is safe living with him and Carla?

ajandjjmum · 14/06/2012 10:05

Did seem a fairly extreme turnaround - although I suspect it could spell the end of Peter and Carla. I think he really loves that little boy, and will come to resent Carla. Or is that just my wishful thinking?

MurielTheActor · 14/06/2012 11:50

Let us not forget that sometimes story lines have to be worked in around the actors' contracts, who's available, who's due a holiday, who's ill, who isn't contracted exclusively to The Street etc.
I fear (again no spoilers) that this storyline has something to do with demands of Peter and Carla in RL.
Must be so hard to keep it consistent with all of us harping on about 'Where's Deidre?'
Where IS Deidre? Wink

SleepyFergus · 14/06/2012 12:43

Deirdre??? Who's she?! Wink

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 14/06/2012 17:07

Muriel - very good point - I hadn't considered that Grin

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 14/06/2012 17:08

Muriel, are you really an actor? Have you ever been in Corrie
My dream is to win a competition to be an extra supping a pint in the background in the Rovers

Nancy66 · 14/06/2012 17:16

Simon's other grandparents have disappeared too....

MurielTheActor · 14/06/2012 17:35

Ah MrsGuy - it's just me showing my age naming myself after a very old song Smile
But I do know the aforementioned Tracie Bennett...

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/06/2012 17:56

That's why people never reappear for weddings and funerals. Not very realistic, but unavoidable for the most part.

I had read the same about Carla and Peter. He is another one who seems to be able to cry realistically. The scene where he was cuddled up to Simon in the bed was nice too.

whatkungfuthat · 14/06/2012 18:03

Sometimes he just looks like Peter, other times he looks studly. Its weird.

Lozario · 14/06/2012 19:20

Peter and Simon have a lovely chemistry together. I've seen footage of them at awards ceremonies together too having a great laugh - I love it when very occasionally you can tell that Peter has ad-libed something that makes Simon giggle Grin

TheNightWatch · 14/06/2012 19:51

Oh, I like Peter. I would shag him if he would wear build ups.

I didnt know they were going off anywhere. I wonder if Carla will ever have a baby?

I really cant stand Leanne. She's bugging me so much.

And, Sinitta, what is she up to?

SleepyFergus · 14/06/2012 20:24

Sunita's going all 'Fatal Attraction' which is a shame because she was one of the nicer characters on the street but then she is married to Dev which is bound to send you a bit loopy I guess. Where will she go when it all undoubtably comes out?

whatkungfuthat · 14/06/2012 20:39

Is Peter short then? As my old nan used to say, they are all the same height lying down Grin

BettyTurnip · 15/06/2012 10:41

It was really sad when Peter handed Simon over, although Simon didn't seem too bothered, skipping gaily out of the door with his whole world in a holdall Grin.

I definitely thought Carla looked like she had a small bump when she was standing side-on in the cropped white top. About 4-5 months gone I reckon.

Peter does has something about him, reminds me of a Robert de Niro type. Once commented to dh that I could picture him in Goodfellas or similar and the look I got in return was exactly this --> Hmm.

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 15/06/2012 21:22

Going back a bit, Jenny Bradley, was played by Sally Ann Matthews. She was in my brothers class at school, and always got the best bit in plays, her Mum was also a teacher at our school...Hmm

whatkungfuthat · 15/06/2012 21:26

Awww don't worry Boiledegg she lost Martin Platt to Gail Grin

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 15/06/2012 21:32

But surely that'a a good thing?

Martin Platt

whatkungfuthat · 15/06/2012 21:37

Now you come to mention it....

SleepyFergus · 18/06/2012 21:05

Reckon Tracey IS preggers...judging from tonight's episode. Floaty shirt and she just looks 'chunkier'

TheNightWatch · 18/06/2012 21:55

You're all obbsessed with getting the corrie women up the duff Smile

Leanne is getting on my nerves something rotten. What kind of game is she playing?

SleepyFergus · 18/06/2012 22:27

Indeed, what is Leanne up to. And more to the point, what on earth was that monstrosity of a jumper she was sporting? Twas ugly!

ajandjjmum · 19/06/2012 22:34

Why did Stella have to poke her nose - she should just leave Peter and Leanne to sort it out. Poor old Simon - looks like he's going to learn the hard way that life's never perfect! Sad
