I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws

As much as I loathe the Sunita/Carl 'story'line, Dev is such a ridiculous character, how has he lasted so long?? It is just for the comical, SHOUTY, overacting?? If so, please note Corrie writers that maybe he needs to take a drunken walk dangerously close to the canal of death

Also agree that Carla is doing a lot of tummy dodging scenes. Suspect she'll be off to her friend in LA soon!

I was wondering if Anna And Owen would walk into the hotel and find Carl and Sunita there.

That phone scene was so unrealistic, its unlikely the phone would have been useless and the sim would have still been intact so all the evidence is still there and she has walked away and left it with Dev. Carl's face at the end was quite funny though.

Yes, they are all totally dim with their mobile phones. Whenever someone has a Secret that means EvilPerson/Forbidden Lover rings them ten times a day no matter where they are and who with, they stare at it dumbly as if there is absolutely nothing they can do to stop it. I have to shout at the screen 'There IS AN OFF SWITCH YOU KNOW.'

I thought the scene between Dev and Sunita was really well written. Her increasing nastiness in her unwillingness to tell the truth, his increasing hurt. Unfortunately it was the acting that let it down...

Poor Stella, perhaps she'll stab the pair of them when she finds out? That would liven things up

Agree that the script-writing of the Dev/Sunita scene was good, but the acting total rubbish
Love that scene with the girls in the tent etc, proper blended family stuff (Katy camping, who'd a thunk it???)

Looks like the extra eps weren't extra after all, just early. Boo! Stella is growing on me and I want to see her kick Carl and Sunitta (to quote my DM) from Arsehole to Bedforshire

It's going to be all over the place for the next few weeks with the football. Much as I like football, I wish it was on any channel other than ITV.

Thank god for Virgin Media is all I say. No worries, the box will sort it all for me

My predictions for future storylines (not a spoiler reader so these are safe to read as probably not correct)

• Maria will fall head over heels for Marcus, who will rebuke her and she will be devastated (plot robbed from Object of my Affection)
• Gary and Izzie will drop a sprog
• Roy and Hayley haven't had a story in a while so they.....erm....suffer through the courts after a run of food poisoning allegations which threaten their livelihood and relationship
• Emily will get t'internet and start an e-romance which will result in a happy ever after for her

Oooo I hope that happens for Emily, Gnocchi. There were heavy hints about a baby from Gary the other night, so that may be interesting as Owen would probably not be happy.

What happened with Dev and Sunita? BT Vision catch up keeps cutting out

I have that prob as well KDDD, Sunday's didn't even show up on the list till about Thurs. Dev was with the kids and they were playing shop with real money from the stash that Carl won at the casino, they said they had found it in the cupboard. Sunitta was supposed to be seeing a gf called Lara and staying the night so Dev realised what was going on and confronted her asking who the lover was etc. He said that when she didn't turn up 'Lara' would call so he would wait and see who it was, Sunitta smashed the phone. Stella turned up and realised that they were in the middle of a big row and asked if Sunitta wanted to come to hers, which she did. When Carl got back from being stood up in the hotel he walked in and saw Sunitta who started dropping heavy hints about them being together.

Gutted - bet there was some dreadful acting from Dev!

At least Dev didn't do his shouty indignant wooden acting, just his quiet victimmy wooden acting. Sunita wasn't convincing as someone who's been massively put on the spot, her answers came out far too pat, then she suddenly backed down and admitted there was someone else when she had almost got away with it.

Re Gary and Issy (love them ) - the plotline when Katy was pregnant and Owen wanted her to have a test to see if the baby had whatever it is that Issy has ( sorry can't remember) may well come up again but this time with a positive result...??
That would be such a hard story....

I was a bit confused about Sunitta. I know she said there was someone else, but then she said he only existed in Dev's head so I'm not sure whether she confessed or not iyswim?

I forgot about that bit. TBH I was only half watching by then. It was all so unconvincing.

Does anyone else have problems bookmarking this thread? I am sure I have bookmarked loads of time and end up back at the beginning. Grr.
