Stranded - pain isn't always related to how far dilated you are. I only ever got to 2cm but needed an epidural - I was being sick with the intensity iof the pain,

Their surprise at the 9cm there reminded me of how they denied I was in labour and then I was found to be 7cm dilated when they finally sent me to the labour ward from the antenatal ward
