Argh, vomit Sad

I genuinely didn't know that it was so common to vomit during labour.

RachelWalsh · 14/03/2012 21:32

I do always wonder why people think it would be in any way helpful to keep telling themselves "I can't do it!"

BackPackBackPack · 14/03/2012 21:33

How many more episodes are there in this series?

I'm hoping if there is another series its back in the old hospital.

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 14/03/2012 21:33

God I've punched that husband by now.

Luckily when i was at similar stage DH had the good sense to stay behind his Sunday paper - still my abiding memory of labour Grin

LetsKateWin · 14/03/2012 21:33

Fanjo, I think the midwife is trying to be positive, rather than dismissive...

landofsoapandglory · 14/03/2012 21:33

Sad Backback. I took one last night and could hardly eat all day today but feel really sick still. I have to take another in a minute!

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 21:33

The "Not Painful" midwife is fantastic, going by the births she's been involved in. Really calm, relaxed, encouraging - and unlike most of the others who seem to feel the need to scream "push" none stop at the mothers, she seems to tell them not to push sometimes and to let baby do a lot of the work.

However, having never given birth, I don't actually know if this is the mark of a good midwife or not!

Chirpy midwife is hilarious

BackPackBackPack · 14/03/2012 21:34

Is that MW just putting that voice on for TV or is it her real voice?

Showmethemhappyfeet · 14/03/2012 21:34

Anyone seen the Disney film Enchanted?! Think Chirpy definitely belongs there!

ahhhhhpushit · 14/03/2012 21:35

Tin - fingers up to the very top inside you vagina and into the cervix. It is your cervix that dilates (opens up). One hand!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/03/2012 21:36

I wouldnt have felt very positive when I was in agony if she had said labour wasn't painful

WizzyBizzy · 14/03/2012 21:36

Oh my god. I can't BEAR her.

Bue · 14/03/2012 21:36

Chirpy midwife must have given me a spoonful of sugar... I find her so funny that I am starting to love her!

HepHep · 14/03/2012 21:36

Ohh, can I join in late? Was watching without MN open but its less fun.
The yellow t shirt mum is a bit annoying. Probably just cos she reminds me of what I was like in labour Grin

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 14/03/2012 21:36

Tinoftiger. They use 2 fingers inside your vagina to feel the cervix. They seperate the fingers inside and can tell how dilated you are that way.

GrumpyPlops · 14/03/2012 21:36

Labour pain is empowering - no, it's fucking painful. I'd want one that understands, not talking shite.
