Practice TinOf.

This place is very odd.

first of all they CTG everyone, then almost everyone lies ofn a bloody bed. and now VBAC woman is in the pool. one flipping extreme to another Confused

Shakey1500 · 14/03/2012 21:28

Ye gads, that midwife is seriously annoying.

sleepychunky · 14/03/2012 21:28

tinof they do a vaginal examination with their fingers and each finger is roughly 1cm so if they can fit 3 fingers in then you're 3cm dilated.

ahhhhhpushit · 14/03/2012 21:28

Stick their fingers in your cervix

BackPackBackPack · 14/03/2012 21:28

I was put it on to keep my headaches away and drain the fluid. Aswell as the chance it will help me to lose weight.

I put weight on and the other people who I have spoke to has not lost any. It did nothing for me, the other side effects were terrible, especially the pins ans needles constantly :(

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/03/2012 21:28

Cant imagine anything worse than being in pain and having a midwife who believes labour is 'not painful'

GrumpyPlops · 14/03/2012 21:28

a pot noodle eh.

Kellamity · 14/03/2012 21:29

Each finger width is roughly a cm

JambalayaCodfishPie · 14/03/2012 21:29

Can I have tongue stud MW please. I want her and her sense-making. Grin

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 14/03/2012 21:29

I'm actually surprised (and quite pleased) they have 'allowed' a woman who's had a previous section in the pool!
She's getting on...

ohmeohmy · 14/03/2012 21:29

Mormon dad is so standoffish. Hands in pockets just crapping on.

BrightShinySun · 14/03/2012 21:29

Why is that dad not getting the MW....she wants an epidural!!

GrumpyPlops · 14/03/2012 21:30

has anyone ever asked their midwife if they had any kids themselves?

Kellamity · 14/03/2012 21:30

I liked the midwife that delivered a colleagues baby a couple of weeks ago. She was lovely!

TinOfTigerFood · 14/03/2012 21:30

Im going to sound really thick but any way... how do they use their fingers to measure everyone's fingers are different sizes?
And are they talking about dilation of the uterus or the vagina?

MarthasHarbour · 14/03/2012 21:30

as soon as i saw chirpy fucking midwife i thought 'she has never had kids'

and yep - her experience of mother hood is her doll Hmm

HoneyWithLemon · 14/03/2012 21:30

I think midwives should have a name badge, with stars for every birth they've had themselves. Like McDonalds.

GrumpyPlops · 14/03/2012 21:31

jeez man. brings back memories of agony every time.

RachelWalsh · 14/03/2012 21:31

I would have to kill the chirpy gaspy Christmas pudding making midwife.

That voice!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 14/03/2012 21:31

That dad is so annoying too, just bleating 'you're alright'

I wonder why she had an elective section

fabsmum · 14/03/2012 21:31

Lordy - some serious fobbing off going on there. Hmm

Will she get her epi after the break?

And if she does will she end up with an assisted delivery? (vbac + epidural does often seem to = forceps/ventouse)

TinOfTigerFood · 14/03/2012 21:32

so do they put two hands in side you then?

GrumpyPlops · 14/03/2012 21:32

wouldnt it be funny if the young mum chucked up all over chirpy midwife in the throes of transition :)
