Just watched part 2 of Homeland shown on Channel 4 last night.

Fantastic drama with an excellent script, superb acting and lots of twists and turns.

Has he been brainwashed????

Well I wasn't expecting that.

Bue · 01/04/2012 22:12

OMG! I'm not quite sure what to say...

Olivia, yes available on 4OD

Hassled · 01/04/2012 22:17

How? How? What?
Was Brodie just told he'd beaten Walker to death and hadn't actually quite done the job? Is Elaine (is that her name?) just lying based on info Brodie has passed to her re what Walker looked like?

Eowyn · 01/04/2012 22:20

That was great!

cybbo · 01/04/2012 22:23

Ooh Hassled I hadnt thought that Brodie could ahve passed on details of Walker to put them off scent

I was waiting for Carrie to have a psychotic episode of some description while she was in the cabin with him, cos she didn't have her meds

AlexandraMary · 01/04/2012 22:24

Wasn't it? FAB. I love it.

MollieO · 01/04/2012 22:25

I think there is more to Brody. He has had 8 years to be turned and hasn't exactly been offered any support since his return.

CarelessWispa · 01/04/2012 22:27

I think hasslesd is right. Brody has been turned (but didn't stop him enjoying a flingette with Carrie in the cabin).

cybbo · 01/04/2012 22:31

He got VERY emotional when he said he 'loved' Abu Nazir

Why woudl he say he loved him? (All he did was give him a bunch of grapes, from what I could see)

i still dont trust Saul

Hassled · 01/04/2012 22:33

No, I don't trust Saul. I think Saul was the more likely of the two to have passed the guy the razorblade - but then again, the guy would have slashed his wrists much sooner than he did, wouldn't he? Quite a bit of time elapsed between Saul's hug and the death.

Bue · 01/04/2012 22:46

Yes I was waiting for Carrie to have an 'episode' at the cabin too. I feel incredibly sympathetic towards Brody now, and I had not warmed to him at all until this episode.

But I must be way off the scent because I think Brody and Saul are both goodies! Never really thought he had been turned. Maybe I don't watch critically enough?

Hassled · 01/04/2012 22:47

And I don't think Eileen/Aileen woudl have turned so easily for Saul. She was the committed one, wasn't she - not Faisal.

cybbo · 01/04/2012 22:48

Yes taking her to his rundown Jewish chalet or whatever it was...what was that all about?

ifancyashandy · 01/04/2012 23:08

I could barely breathe for the last 20 mins Grin. Loved it!

And Saul took her to his old synagogue to show empathy. I still think Brody had been turned & just played Carrie brilliantly. And making her fall for him, as opposed to having a drunken shag, was genius!

noddyholder · 01/04/2012 23:10

Great tonight. There is great drama on tv ATM . White heat is amazing too.

cronsilksilt · 02/04/2012 02:56

Perhaps Brodie was persuaded to 'kill' Walker in order to 'turn' Walker. I don't think Brodie is the mole, but I do think there's stuff we don't know.
I think that the boss guy that Carrie had the affair with is suspect. I think he wants to discredit Carrie and ruin her, as revenge for his marriage breaking up .

foxinsocks · 02/04/2012 05:08

It was great - didn't want it to end!

Think Eileen turned at the thought of her beloved in an unmarked grave rather than anything else

Mind you, 30 hours with Saul would probably make anyone blab!

carabos · 02/04/2012 09:20

We think that Abu Nazir is a deep cover agent and only Saul knows that. Saul is trying to find out whether AN is likely to be exposed and Brodie is part of all that. Carrie knows nothing and is being played by Saul. Estes is totally out of the loop. Mike the lover has more going on than we yet know.

Fun thinking up the possible permutations and probably none of that is right!

Carrotcakeisace · 02/04/2012 09:30

Am coming to the conclusion that Brodie has not been turned, they tried but failed probably because he isn't strong enough mentally. They kept him in captivity whilst they turned Walker and trained him up and the reason the US found him was that Al Qieda leaked his whereabouts as a cover for Walker plans

Am a bit gutted about Brodie leaving Carrie and would like them to sort it out (have clearly been sucked in)

tiredemma · 02/04/2012 09:31

I have recorded it but not got around to watching any of it yet- from the posts here it looks like I'm in for a mammoth Sky+ feast!!!

Saul was also the first FBI agent/boss in Criminal Minds (without beardy, of course).
I think he was also the lead in a good film called Lantana.

cybbo · 02/04/2012 10:08

carabos I like your thinking

cocolepew · 02/04/2012 10:11

I don't trust Mike either

I still don't trust Brody. Or Saul.

Actuallly I don't trust any of them Confused

And I'd give Brodys DD a boot up the arse.

cybbo · 02/04/2012 10:17

Shooting someone from a house rooftop is not exactly a covert way to get rid though, is it? You'd have to clambour down the guttering, watching out for the shrubs..they clearly hadn't thought this through
