Just watched part 2 of Homeland shown on Channel 4 last night.

Fantastic drama with an excellent script, superb acting and lots of twists and turns.

Has he been brainwashed????

I think that Brodie buried Walker, but he wasn't dead. The Iraqi's were playing him, or maybe both of them. Maybe being 'killed' by one of your fellow marines was something that could turn you.

I am confused about the statement from Brodie saying he loved his guard. Was it really boy-love?

Thanks - i must have missed that bit! I think once the series ends and we (hopefully) know what has gone on, I'll need to rewatch it to see how it fits together!

I don't think it was "boy love" but just symptomatic f the fact that he had suffered such torture and the man was "kind" to him.
I'm really gutted that Brody seems to have been turned too, it didn't feel so bad having a crush on him when I thought he was good

DH hasn't been watching this - I made him do so on Sunday just because he's good at working out whodunnit. Even though he went to bed before the end he agrees with Hassled - his verdict is "they're all in it together"

I thought the guard was horrible, but Nazir was nice? Or am I getting confused with the razor blade torturer?

Joining in a bit late but totally fanatical... I think maybe Brody had 2 different guards? Over 8 years that's not implausible. One was Faisal who was nasty, and the other was Issa who was nice? I think he "loved" Abu Nazir though. Perhaps not so much any more - it seemed to me that his "break up" with Carrie boosted his relationship with his wife & family and therefore his loyalty to his country?

I thought all the phone coaching with Walker's wife was crap - it wasn't until after the 2nd failed attempt that Carrie really talked through what she was actually going to talk to him about Great preparation, experts...

I think we already know he had at least 2 guards. The guy who killed himself, and previous to that the CIA discussed another guard with Brody.

The only person I think is definitely good is Saul - minority opinion I know! I just don't think he's got the energy for terrorism at the moment, what with the day job and the collapse of his marriage taking up so much time...

Apparently Damien Lewis said in an interview that at the end of the first series we still won't know whether Brodie was turned or not.

Really that is a pain in the back side.

I've read in a few places that Brody is now concentrating on his marriage. I didn't think that at all.

When they'd been out to the party, I felt that Brody was holding back from the wife when she was all doey-eyed in the car and he leapt on the opportunity to watch telly with the kids, to avoid going to bed with her. There were also a couple of occasions when he seemed to be daydreaming and I thought he was thinking about Carrie.

Anyone see Clare Danes in "Temple Grandin" last night? She was brilliant.
