I thought the disclaimer was going to be something sad or tragic....paternity test, that is a bit LOL they'll be on jeremy kyle next!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 01/02/2012 22:06

I had 26 hours of labour with dd drugged up whole time and then put to sleep for emergency cs. Was barley awake for 2 days breastfed in frug state didnt know where i was or nothing and then ds was elective cd was awake and anaesthetic wore off a bit during the op and it hurt like hell and they hadto give me pain relief so they could finish up so i would much rather have a normal delivery

Lovebumps · 01/02/2012 22:08

Flisspaps - I have read alot about natural births and shoulder dystocia and they say usually turning the mother onto all fours can help turn a baby or if she is on all fours then back around, but i have not seen them do this and on the american version they had a woman flat on her back with their hands in her and they had not tried the turn first. must be so scary though!!!

PeppermintCreams · 01/02/2012 22:11

Next week's young mum is 17 according to their website.

oldraver · 01/02/2012 22:11

I had heard of this 1cm an hour... so thats why I asked demanded Meptid (knew I had a wait for an Epidural )just after 2am as I was 2cm and in agony ... DS arrived at 2.40am

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/02/2012 22:12

I was strapped to the bed with all 3 of mine. All three were in distress and all three were assisted deliveries. I would love to have done it on my own just once Sad

pigleychez · 01/02/2012 22:13

DD1 was shoulder dystosia. DH said the Dr's and midwives looked horrified and the worried look on their faces filled im with dread and his heart was in his mouth.

She was back to back too and turned with ventouse before forceps delivery. She was well and truly stuck!

clarabellabunting · 01/02/2012 22:14

Someone who's a friend of the Nathaniel's is on the OBEM facebook page saying it turned out he isn't the dad.

His facebook status from tonight says: "i cnt belive there showing it tbh seen as the kid aint mine n at least i did wat i did whilr i fort she wah mine nt many peeps wudadun after a drunken fuk da jokes on her coz she still dnt know who da father is n i feel sorry for rikeya!!!"

StarlightMcKenzie · 01/02/2012 22:14

I was transitional at 2cm with first.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 22:15

I was told I wasn't in labour an hour and half later dd arrived

JambalayaCodfishPie · 01/02/2012 22:16

Several people on OBEMs FB newsfeed claiming Nathaniel wasn't the dad after all. And that he was gutted.

Poor girl having that added at the end, she's getting a lot if stick. Sad

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/02/2012 22:16

The father is mixed race that baby wasnt too white to be his child.

He might have asked to have a disclaimer put on but him just saying he didnt think he was the dad shouldnt be enough!

Why havent we seen it before? I bet he isnt the first dad to say it.

I think its too bloody conveinent for the producers to have a young unmarried mixed couple and a sodding DNA test. Good telly hey Hmm

BIt different if they had the results of the DNA test. How lovely for the baby to see that in a few years time.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 01/02/2012 22:16

lot OF stick

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/02/2012 22:17

I was told i wasn't in labour with ds and he was born 20 mins later Shock they were trying to get me to have petadine as I wasn't coping with the pain lol... Still needed vontouse sp? as cord was around his throat several times.. thankfuly the lovely mw didn't send me home like the registra wanted her to.

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 01/02/2012 22:18

I feel very uncomfortable with how Jess was treated. Alarm bells rang when the midwife said at the beginning that she treats the young ones differently. I'm sure she said at least 3 times fro that midwife to stop examining her. Were they not listening? This was not pleasant viewing.

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/02/2012 22:20

Night all see you all next week

BulstrodeTheApatosaurus · 01/02/2012 22:22

I had the joy of McRoberts with my DS. He was over 10 pounds. My DH says the midwives used it to pull the baby out. Was quite peeved at the time but it got the baby out!

JambalayaCodfishPie · 01/02/2012 22:23

BadDay To be fair, the midwife who said that wasn't there at the end when it seemed like they were ganging up on her a bit.

StarlightMcKenzie · 01/02/2012 22:26

I think women are more capable of rating their own progression tbh if they are left alone and not drugged.

I remember the head descending with no two like an electric shock down the base of my spine and being overcome by whiteness and then panic. I'd had nothing, not even gas and air but I understood that I was in transition and jumped in the pool grabbing the gas and air.

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 01/02/2012 22:29

No that mw wasn't there, but she seemed to be infantalised by all the staff Sad

lovemydog · 01/02/2012 22:42

I admit I haven't watched it all (on Sky+). But - BIL is married to Philipino/Japanese lady. Their baby was born whiter than my two (Scottish/English) and is now obviosly mixed race ( and gorgeous).

MrsHeffley · 01/02/2012 23:03

I think Channel 4 were very wrong to run the show if the paternity is in doubt.Really poor judgement. That poor young girl and baby now have to live with the whole nation's gossip.

MamaMaiasaura · 01/02/2012 23:08

Bump now - I was pretty mic forced to have pethidine as the said I wasn't allowed g&a as not on labour and nothing else allowed Angry I just felt terribly sick and it never touched the pain.

MrsChemist · 01/02/2012 23:35

One thing I did notice was that both Jess and her mum expressed a wish for their daughters to not follow in their footsteps. Although it was past tense for Jess' mum, obviously.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 02/02/2012 09:00

lovemydog I have 5 mixed race kids and they all came out various shades of beige. My youngest is the palest.

They all have different skin tones and hair. All the same dad. You just never know what you are going to get when you have a mixed race baby Smile

Its idiotic for anyone to look at a baby and say 'cant be mine/his its not black enough'

Mine have got blue eyes, my nephews are blonde and blue eyed.
