I guess the disclaimer is a legal thing.

NotnOtter · 01/02/2012 22:01

prisoner I noticed that too

rhondajean · 01/02/2012 22:02

Midwives don't always listen!

I was induced and two hours later they gave me pet hiding for extreme pain while I waited for an epidural - they said I wasn't even in labour - dd1 was born 3 hrs 17 minutes after they took me into labour ward for induction and was floppy and poor breathing from the pethidine.

Cm an hour my arse.

scarletforya · 01/02/2012 22:02

Wow they made us wait this week for our baby fix!!

stressheaderic · 01/02/2012 22:02

Ahem, DNA test?

Preview of next week's brought a little tear.

mejon · 01/02/2012 22:02

Ooo 2 lovely babies! Exactly a year ago DD2 was 2.5 hours old. Brings it all back but in a nice way. Am I alone in not finding VEs painful or distressing in any way? I had a consultant struggling away trying to attach a monitor pad to DD's head for quite some time but I didn't feel a thing Blush and I'd only had G&A (which does nothing for me anyway).

allnightlong · 01/02/2012 22:02

Really cross about the bit at the end no need to mention it when it's about the birth of the baby.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 01/02/2012 22:02

Ah no I'm not impressed by the Jeremy Kylie bit.
Until next week ladies ...

jaffacakehips · 01/02/2012 22:02

Why did they need to add the DNA test bit at the end. It's a TV problem about childbirth not paternity test!!

Showmethemhappyfeet · 01/02/2012 22:02

Was NOT expecting that paternity bit at the end! All the luck to Jess and her baby xxxxx
Next weeks girl looks even younger!

HepHep · 01/02/2012 22:02

Surely the only reason they'd have included such a disclaimer is if one of the parents said they wanted it to be tacked on the end? Otherwise it's a bit shit :(

Looks like another young mum next week too.

Hassled · 01/02/2012 22:03

MrsDeV - I was thinking that, but maybe the father wanted it - if he's doubting paternity, if he thinks he isn't a father, he probably doesn't want the world to think he is.

Lovebumps · 01/02/2012 22:03

what was happening to that woman on next weeks show, never seen them put someone in that position before?

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2012 22:03

Starting to feel sorry for people that are midwives, Sad

JasperJohns · 01/02/2012 22:03

Doubts have been raised re paternity! I see a Jeremy Kyle appearance..

bigeyes · 01/02/2012 22:04

Do you know I was just thinking she was very pink. My DH is mixed the same colour as that father in room and my dc's was darker reddy colour, he now has olive skin.

Just saying based on my experience of my little family being all different colours, mind expecting my dd due soon to be darker.

then that message flashed up, how er interesting....

AmberLeaf · 01/02/2012 22:04

Baby wasnt 'too white' mums white dad looks mixed race. some black babies are born that pale, it doesnt mean anything!

Dont know why they put that at the end, what does that mean? Nathaniel has said he wants a DNA test? but Jess gets slurred on national TV. nice one ch4

Lovebumps They said 'McRoberts please' which is the position for dealing with Shoulder Dystocia.

ClicksArse · 01/02/2012 22:05

I was thinking exactly what you've just said Stranded but I didn't want to say it Blush

Rollergirl1 · 01/02/2012 22:06

Flisspaps: That's bollocks. With both my births i dilated from 3 to 10 in the space of about 20 mins. With my 2nd birth they were trying to make me go home as I "wasn't in established labour" yet I'd had him less than an hour later. When I was in the transitional phase I had a consultant asking me if I wanted an epidural as I "appeared to be in some discomfort". I told him through gritted teeth that I thought it might be too late and he looked at me like I was a moron. Within 5 mins I had the urge to push and my midwife had gone missing. I demanded DH find someone to examine me as I knew the baby was coming very very soon. A new midwife examined me and I was fully dilated and baby was right there! With both my births the speed of them caught all the proffessionals out. Yet i instintively knew what was happening and was repeatedly ignored and told that I couldn't possibly be as far along as I thought.

So midwives/doctors knowing if you are in the transitional stage is absolute bollocks. I had a consultant offering me an epidural at this point!

CaveMum · 01/02/2012 22:06

It will have been a legal requirement. We shouldn't assume that Nathaniel is claiming he's not the father, we don't know all the facts.
