Who is watching tonight? I'm quite excited Grin No chocolate here though. Forgot to get some, bugger.

OP posts:
NotnOtter · 01/02/2012 21:52

no one has actually said that pushing if it's not time could prolong her pain....simple as...

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2012 21:52

If you refuse a VE how can they tell how dilated you are though?

scarletforya · 01/02/2012 21:52

I thought the same about the diamorphene HoneyWithLemon. It seemed to just sap all her mental and physical strength. Looks like horrible stuff.

StarlightMcKenzie · 01/02/2012 21:52

Not liking this episode. Reminds me of my first. Drug me out of my face. Leave me in pain and frightened. Keep interfering with me and hurting me. Talk to me as if I am 5. Control my pushing against my instincts. Loads of people in room ganging up etc etc.

amandine07 · 01/02/2012 21:52

8 mins left, no babies yet!!

pooka · 01/02/2012 21:52

She asked for a painkiller as she was feeling sick with the gas and air. They offered diamorphine.

I had diamorphine with dd - preferable (to me, at the time) to having epidural - which I wanted to save as a future option and I wanted to sleep.

RobinSparkles · 01/02/2012 21:52

It's soooo hard not to push if you want to. My body just took over, I kept apologising to the MW because I was pushing but I couldn't help it! She had told me not to start pushing yet because I wasn't quite "there" yet. In the end she said, "oh, just push then!"

jaffacakehips · 01/02/2012 21:52

I argee with Honey she should of stuck with the G&A..diamorphine just makes you go loopy lou and she's had it twice already. Poor love

MetalSian · 01/02/2012 21:52

I think she is on a drip. Synthetic hormone.
Which is why she has a catheter.
So she can't get up and the baby has to be constantly monitored.
Mine was like that.

StrangewaysHereICome · 01/02/2012 21:53

Poor thing, I refused VE's with my second as they were excruciating. Now the pthidine has worn off she should listen to her body and if she's ready to push go with it. I feel for her so much.

ClicksArse · 01/02/2012 21:53

I don't think she is in any fit state to be moving around by now. I suspect she'd just keel over.

Poor girl. It must be so much more distressing when you are out of it and not feeling in control Sad

Charlotteperkins · 01/02/2012 21:53

They don't NEED to know how dilated you are.

StarlightMcKenzie · 01/02/2012 21:53

Pmsl at breathing through tubing.

amandine07 · 01/02/2012 21:53

so difficult, they need to know how dilated she is, a torn cervix is serious shit..

igggi · 01/02/2012 21:53

Haven't watched this before.

theonewiththenoisychild · 01/02/2012 21:53

26 hours into labour i had a very distressed baby and far too many ve's so i feel sorry for jess Sad

BroomForMyChin · 01/02/2012 21:53

Jess' labour is eerily like mine. Strapped to a bed, baby's heart rate all over the place, failure to progress. Mother pumped full of all sorts to the point where I was completely out of it. Really really feel for her.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/02/2012 21:54

I was that out of it with DD after hours and hours of labour and pethidene.

The MW told me off and shouted at me Sad

It took me giving birth to DS1 two years later to get over it.

sphil · 01/02/2012 21:54

That midwife would have REALLY gor on my nerves, yakking on like that. Very insensitive.

allnightlong · 01/02/2012 21:54

LOL stfu she's a bit busy......

Showmethemhappyfeet · 01/02/2012 21:54

I assume you people asking why she's not up trotting round the room never had to have Diamorphine?! She's completely out of it!!! I was stuck in bed the whole time coz I had to bd monitored. Not everyone gets the choice unfortunately!

NotnOtter · 01/02/2012 21:54

bigeyes - yes with that torture drug

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/02/2012 21:54

igggi how exciting Smile

JambalayaCodfishPie · 01/02/2012 21:54

There's an awful lot of people on here tonight who seem to know more than the trained medical professionals! Grin

jaffacakehips · 01/02/2012 21:54

Oh igggi that's exciting!
