Am rather looking forward to seeing the home made bikini for the 'relaxing zen' birth...

I also had a midwife like that who couldn't be arsed. Has Kerry had some other drugs too, she seems really doped up.

Pishtushette · 11/01/2012 21:49

I agree with you spotty.

pigleychez · 11/01/2012 21:49

I so feel for Kerry. With DD1 I was the same... Hard and fast contrations that werent really doing alot. Took me 27 hours to get fully dilate. I too was soo knackered when it came to the pushing!
Little monkey had turned during labour and got stuck so no amount of pushing was helping. She was also born with Shoulder dystosia. Always has been akward!

ShowOfHands · 11/01/2012 21:49

spottydog, agree. You can gently nudge labour in a direction perhaps but overall it's luck, huge amounts of luck. You get the delivery you get. I pushed for 8hrs and still couldn't budge dd. People tried to pull her out and then push her back up. Didn't work. I didn't do badly. Neither did dd. We did differently.

hermionestranger · 11/01/2012 21:49

I really feel for Kerry, she's being yelled and at made to feel scared. Sad poor woman. I had beyond intense contractions from the word go and once on delivery the team were amazing and tried their best to get things going naturally through being calm and quietly reassuring. if they had been yelling and screaming it would have been appalling.

NotnOtter · 11/01/2012 21:50

i think Kerry is exhausted

bringmesunshine2009 · 11/01/2012 21:50

Ds2 was more like Disney. A happy calm midwife and stude who stayed with me throughout had me laughing didn't feel a thing. MW with ds1 popped in every 30 mins for 30 secs to say 'I was making a bit of a fuss' was AWFUL cow bag.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 11/01/2012 21:50

No I'm sorry but Disney mum was amazing, so focused and calm. That wasn't luck it was focus and determination. I had a lovely natural birth but I was still a bit shrieky and panicky.

Pushing under an epi looks horribly difficult.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 11/01/2012 21:51

I really cannot see what the blonde midwife is doing wrong. Kerry was losing ctonrol. How would it have helped to let her carry on as she was ??

And now, the baby needs out. I don't think the midwife was threatening forceps.

AnathemaDevice · 11/01/2012 21:51

Am I bad for wanting one of her feet to slip, and accidentally kick the shouty midwife in the face?

allnightlong · 11/01/2012 21:51

If this mum is watching it live tonight and reflecting on her treatment I seriously hope tomorrow morning she complains about the dumb midwife.

ShowOfHands · 11/01/2012 21:51

And I love how MN makes us all experts. As soon as she said 'problems' I bet half of MN mumbled 'polycystic ovaries'. MN has qualified me for all sorts.

I want to be a midwife again.

SlinkyB · 11/01/2012 21:51

Fuck. Anyone watching "how to be a good mother" up next? I was hungry until I saw that woman prepping a placenta for dinner

wonderingwendy · 11/01/2012 21:51

very odd couple

MadameBoolala · 11/01/2012 21:51

I mean, my desire to become a midwife is coming back again. Not that I used be one!

ahhyesiseeyouvepooedonyourfoot · 11/01/2012 21:52

what crowning already?! what?! surely there was more to it that that?

Victorialucas · 11/01/2012 21:52

I've never understood how sideways births work.

sailorsgal · 11/01/2012 21:52

I know most women would prefer to have a MW who had given birth themselves but the problem with the blonde one is I don't think she had great births and its reflecting in her work. Not good.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 11/01/2012 21:52

I like that midwife with renee she seems just really supportive

NotnOtter · 11/01/2012 21:52

why odd couple - seem adorable to me

Chubfuddler · 11/01/2012 21:52

Gosh there are some not at all sisterly comments regarding renee on this thread, aren't there? Foul.

hermionestranger · 11/01/2012 21:52

My labour ended in emcs due to foetal distress and 19 hours I hard and fast and no dilation! But it wasn't to do with bad care. Is this the same midwife as the birthing pool? She's lovely!
