Strictly Come Dancing 2011

As all the other threads seem to have died off I thought I'd start a new one in anticipation of this Friday's first live show.

I have to say I'm not too bothered about the Celebs this year, but then again I'm more interested in watching the professionals anyway!

The line up for each of the two shows has been announced (from BBC website):

On Friday 30th September the couples performing for the first time on live television will be:

?Alex
?Anita
?Audley
?Dan
?Lulu
?Robbie
?Russell

Then on Saturday 1st October the couples performing for the first time together will be:

?Chelsee
?Edwina
?Harry
?Holly
?Jason
?Nancy
?Rory

Please note the running order has yet to be confirmed. The celebrities have been listed above in alphabetical order.

They will dance either a Waltz or a Cha Cha Cha, but I'm not 100% sure who is doing what.

My overriding thought in the run up for the series so far has been "I hope the wardrobe department come up with some decent foundations for poor Chelsee!"
That outfit they've put her in for the promo shots makes her boobs look humungous Shock

Anyone else care to share their thoughts in advance?

Got to love Anton, though wish one year, just for a change they gave him somone under 50 who has a vague sense of rhythm.
Am I the only person who chuckles gleefully whenever Nancy, who clearly thinks of herself as some kind of sexy femme fatale, galumphs around the dance floor like a baby rhinocerous?!

Anton doesn't come across as a tall man. I'm quite surprised. I feel for Nancy, actually. Anton isn't being very supportive. Didn't he have Patsy Palmer, who was half-decent? That was some years ago though, I suppose.

Yes, Patsy did a really good tango, complete wit ha very sexy shimmer of the shoulders thrown in. But Anton must have peed off one of the producers years ago...

Pan - re Darren and Lilya, did you see on last year's ITT that they were still working on SCD? They were advising on the overseas versions (well, Darren certainly was) and so were travelling the world looking at the different formats. Made me feel a bit better about them going as I too loved them. They've now got ALiona when they could still have Lilya - ridiculous.

I thought Erin was great on ITT last year although do prefer Ian - he is just loverly!

I am also really loving Zoe and don't think she's trying to be Claudia at all - she's always presented like that and seems really natural and at home on the sofa.. Plus, and this is everyones defence of the abysmal Alesha, she has been there and done it and so can empathise a lot with the current slebs... did love Alesha as a contestant though and desperately wanted her to win, can't remember who she was up against in the final but I remember worrying she wouldn't win so must've voted 20 times for her Grin

Anyways - love Zoe!

No, yesbut, I didn't know that - I thought the Turkish thing was totally unrleated to the UK SCD. As nice as Aliona is to look at, I'm afraid she's a bit of a 'girl' when compared the woman that Lilya is. simhoSmile

Lilia and Darren were my favourites too.

Although I like Erin, I think she must be a brilliant teacher. She always manages to get something out of her partners in a way that some of the others just don't seem to.

Thinking about the tall girls, extremelychocolatey, there never have been that many. Lilia was similar to Ola, Karen wasn't much taller, and Nicole (yep, going back a bit now!) was tiny, something like 5'2 in her heels.

Think Hayley might have been taller, but she only lasted one series.

Actually, if Nicole was about the smallest, and Matthew one of the tallest and they're a professional couple does height (that way round at least) really matter?

The side panels on the hips are v unflattering. Top bit OK but from the bust down pretty awful.
The hair really suits her though.
