Anyway, pickles is one of the better looking chaps in DA, so please don;t bin him. I especially like his double breasted jacket and shiny buttons....

He isn't at all good looking. I think I'd rather have Carson than him. there is a complete dearth of good looking men in the village of Downton, no wonder the gels eyes are turned by the lower classes.
I do think the first soup kitchener will have a bigger part to play as the series progresses and he wasn't too bad on the eye. Not easy, not too bad though.

yes I noticed he was plumper, still as pale though his face hing like a moon in the background of the concert shots.

What was all the stuff with reflections? Anna was refleted in the door glass, Sybill was reflected in the cars windows, mary reflected in the mirror.

I think William looks chunkier because of the uniform. It isn't flattering on anyone.

No to feeling sorry for Mary. I don't feel sorry for any of them really except Sybil who will run away with Pickle, get knocked up then feel the hairy side of his hand. He is a wife beater and no mistake.
Or, she will have to go to a real hospital and do some proper nursing rather than fannying around getting bandages out of cupboards that will never be used.
The reflective filming I thought would come into play later on. Someone was watching and listening through the glass.

FWIW, I think she thinks love conquers all. She does seem very romantic, although she's supposed to be strong and independant.

awww I feel sorry for Mary, I think she's much nicer now.

I like the way they all have their faults & nice bits ..I EVEN almost felt sorry for Thomas when he was talking about being "different" ...it didn't last though, smarmy basket.
