Old thread's getting full, so here's a nice new acid-resistant one...

But how long did Amy have Melody for? The twins playing her were three months old....

Baby actors are generally older than the character I think.

Yes, but it does mean that it leaves the possibility that Amy had several weeks with Melody.

In fact, thinking about it, it was actually at least a month, because when Dorian (the blue guy) was talking to Hatch-Patch lady, before the Doctor came for him, she said 'It's been a month and the Doctor's done nothing'

Actually, I've just checked, and that's after Melody is taken away.

But still no evidence that she was taken away straight away.

I thought someone on here might have flagged up the 'Hello Benjamin' line River utters after she's regenerated. WTF was that all about? I've tried to google it, but can't get any sense or reason on it, so thought I'd try the extra smart Whovians on here :)

My daughter loved it. Watched it twice straight off the bat (we missed it as we were away. When we got back dd & her best friend who came away with us, both had to watch it and the Confidential the minute we got back). We're now all waiting patiently for the next episode...even though we know it won't answer any questions.

I thought the "Hello Benjamin" line was a reference to the film The Graduate. An older woman, Mrs. Robinson, assumed a similar pose to River Song to seduce Benjamin.

And didn't the Doctor give River Song the nickname Mrs Robinson in a previous episode?

Yes he did. I knew someone would know :) Thanks Abcinthia

Sorry going to de lurk to say that I think the Good Man that River kills is actually Rory, not the Dr.... Because she says that she is in prison for killing the best man she ever knew. In the last episode when Rory arrives at the storm cage as the last centurion, she looks so sad, then turns to face him. (am sure she says something significant but can't remember exact quote)
Also remember an interview that was talking about the cot & suggesting that River wasn't the only child of relevance to have slept in there...
Have no idea about anything else to do with this series but am very much enjoying it!

I have to say, I thought a kiss was a rather dangerous way of killing him. I mean, she didn't know in advance she'd be regenerating and therefore reasonably safe from the poison did she?

Although, the Judas tree isn't actually poisonous...Have we discovered Dr Who's kryptonite?

Ooh, I did like the 'looking for a good man' bit at the end. Presumably that leads in to how she left the 'Hello sweetie' message on the rock face (or pyramid?) for him last series.

Well it scared the wits out of the DCs. I had a 13 year old boy wrapped round me on the sofa :o. I enjoyed that - silly but fun. I especially liked "You're not from Social Services, are you?"

Dd1/I didn't find it scary :(

I loved that episode! One of the best episodes for ages. I much prefer the complete stories per episode rather than these long story arcs I've found difficult to follow.

I thought it was really silly Sad and a bit scary Blush

I like the fact it was a complete story in itself but it seemed just a bit pointless!

I like the actor who played the dad, he's always good. still a daft story though, too simple!

DH was really scared though Hmm

I quite like tonights episode and preferred it without River who I think is rather annoying. I guessed they were in the dolls house.

I like the actor who played the dad. Was he in Atonement

I boohooed at the end when the dad hugged the boy and he just went 'dad...dad'

Awwww

I really enjoyed it. It was nice to have a complete story in itself rather than trying to piece together a complicated story line. Ds (aged 6) found it very scary.

my favourite (paraphrased) llne:
Dad "it's bigger on the inside
Doctor "it's more common than you might think"

Now, on a scale of 1 to 10, how bad a mother would it make me if I hid the little wooden Plan Toy people in DS2's wardrobe? I've got them down from the loft so they are ready to go.

Please can someone explain why they don't seem to be looking for baby Melody any more? Have the just accepted that she is going to be brought up elsewhere and become Mels, then River? Why aren't Amy and Rory more upset over this?

I'm not normally as confused as this!

I loved the bit when the Doctor talked about the fairy stories he read as a child 'The Emperor Daleks New Clothes' :o

I liked it. Its one of those episodes you dont really have to think about, which makes a nice change sometimes.

Meh - massively disappointed. I love the River episodes and the big storyline but I was really looking forward to a breather and an uncomplicated MOTW episode. However I just found it a bit overly simplistic and Matt Smith just seemed awkward and I don't just mean in the comedic/intentional/not very good with children kind of way.

Next week's looks good but then so did this week's from the trailer.

Did anyone see the series trailer - River with the Madam Kovorian eye-patch? Any theories?
