Old thread's getting full, so here's a nice new acid-resistant one...

It does make sense that the girl in New York regenerated into someone unknown (as yet) travelled to Leadworth and then regenerated again into Mels. AK said the last time she regenerated she was a toddler, but there could have been a few times before that too.
Re the name thing, doesn't the doctor say something like' Wife, I need you to help me' at the end of the episode, so maybe he did both. I assumed he had to marry her to save the universe, otherwise he could have just touched her and had the same effect. Either that or they marry sometime in the future, before the Library episodes with DT. She HAS to be his wife. I can't think of any other explanation that wouldn't be a massive anti climax!

When Amy first met her, she said something like "you're so his wife" and she replied, "Ooh, you're good, I'm not saying you're right, but you're good".

I can't see a reason for them not to marry 'properly' now though, they obviously want to! I love all the scenes where they flirt, they obviously have (I hate saying this, it sounds so wanky!) great chemistry.

It made me laugh in Confidential when she was saying about if all Tesselectors could kiss like that.

Yes, and she keeps breaking out of prison for all sorts of shennegans by the sounds of it!

I wish I could draw it.

This is how I think it works

1: All episodes up til Lake Silencio - one doctor
2: Lake Silencio old (tesselator) Doctor gets shot, young (from previous episodes) Doctor turns up just after the shooting
3: All episodes from Lake Silencio til now young Doctor does all the things we just saw, including potentially large periods of time in between episodes, old Doctor does things that we haven't seen yet
4: This episode young Doctor goes back in time to point 2 and becomes (old) tesselator Doctor
5: Any point after this young Doctor has gone round in a loop and become old Doctor so no longer exists, only old Doctor is around to do stuff

Ah, but do we have a ganger now? Or did he really become yoghurty gloop?

I think the ganger who was in the castle always became gloop - the thing was that the (real) Doctor said something like - this may not be the end (can't remember the exact words ) which I think meant that the Doctor knew the ganger could be re-formed/recreated - perhaps becausethe sonic screwdriver kept a record? Remember the Doctor said that, at the point in time where they were, the ganger technology was in its infancy - lots of things might have become possible later on that weren't possible at that time. It could well become a feature in a future story...
