Doctor Who Series 6 part 2 - the ganger thread

imho there is going to be a change in history - because we can't really have series 7 without a doctor! i think the operative words from river were "according to some accounts it's when the doctor dies" we probably have three options:

• there is going to be some sort of way of bringing him back that we did not see and the fuel is actually some sort of fake/non-burning chemical, as arranged with canton - and perhaps
• it is a ganger on the beach
• they interfere with the ray coming from river's spacesuit so the rays are non-fatal for the doctor - again it is all pretend to try and fool the cilence/kovarian

as we hear again and again "the doctor lies". as does river, as does moffat!

poor river being brainwashed by the silence up to now - and do we think she is imprisoned in the stormcage because everyone has to think she killed the doctor - so it is part of the ruse to fool the silence?

yes. I've been toying with the idea that the real doctor does die and its the ganger that goes on....

they made a big thing of that in the ganger episode, with a ganger human stepping in to be a dad to the real bloke's kid.

Stupid I know, but I didn't think it would be the grown-up River in the spacesuit.

River didn't seem to know the hatch-patch lady, when she appeared at the end, was that because she had masked herself with the silence?

And there was something else I wanted to ask, but it's completely gone...I'll come back later!

It seemed even odder than usual tonight. Amy a famous model - bit random.

Also, the Doctor wearing that magnifying thing which made him look like the eyepatch people.
The whole series has been about deciding who lives and dies, and I think that someone will have to make a choice between Doctor and Ganger next week.

Very random that Amy would be a model and have a relevant tagline for her perfume.

I like to think that she wrote a children's book that included being the waiting girl, and that's why the little girl wanted her autograph. The perfume modelling thing was because she was a famous author who also happened to be young and hot. (we don't know how much time has passed)

yeah, I doubt my 6 year old could pick out a perfume model in a crowd and ask for her autograph

Maybe if the picture was 10 feet high and right behind her...

If the timeline was indeed the say before he dies should Amy already be gangered & en route to US?

...only if she was holding a cameleon or famous for being in Deadly 60

If it's really the day before he dies then what has he been doing in the intervening (in his timeline) 200 years?

voidka i thought it was her perfume - as in she had the idea of making "petrichor"

harriet the timelines are a bit wierd, no? did amy and rory live near craig? was he going to his death "tomorrow" only from his perspective - ie he was going to go back in time to April from September, but for Amy and Rory this is them after all the action, after the doctor dropped them off, when they are building a new life for themselves?

OK: now I'm not quoting verbatim, and I mat have missed key weasel words. But what he appeared to be doing was confirming that River was in the space suit - so what if she's on the beach as well, it's a time travel show, we can deal with that. And that she killed the Doctor - she killed a good man, who else was a good man to her?

We saw Mme Kovarian have her put into the space suit in the trailer, and that she has Silence fallers behind her all the time.

Harriet - if you assume that the Amy in TIA was ganger (she did stay in that shirt her whole ganger time: but I don't get why gangers shouldn't change clothes) then she could be in US. But that would mean ganger Rory too?

I always assumed Amy was gangered in the second episode, Day of the Moon when The Silence had her for three days. Although she was wearing a black suit then. And saw Lady Kevorian. Ah, scrub that, obviously gangered before then ...

medbut she wasn't in her ganger shirt when she was in the orphanage. that always puzzled me. was it that the ganger just got changed for that part of the plot or was that always a different (the real or future?) amy?

The Dr looked at the paper (date) and the children's 'eye witness reports' were from the day he went so it must be just before.

Or did the Dr drop Amy & Rory at new house cos old house had ganger Amy ( & ganger Rory?) in? Or different timeline ones?

New house Amy/Rory had been through Drs death/Melody etc then dr dropped them (at a similar point to them leaving) they get on with life(perfume ad etc) while old house (or ganger ) Amy/Rory live through drs death etc.

No ganger for River - just overlapping time travel (and must not interfere) like Rose in the episodes of her parent's wedding?
