shannen · 16/11/2005 14:40

Oh god yeah all that stuff with Britney. What an old tart.

Her hubbie comes accross as abit of a twit as well.

shannen · 16/11/2005 14:41

I think there is certain aspects of their mums career that will make them squirm with embarrassment.

bundle · 16/11/2005 14:41

from what I heard (someone who did some work at their house) Lourdes/Rocco know their two nannies a lot more intimately than Madge

Same here, Tamba.

And now I'm singing 'The Shiny Show' theme song in my head. 'Eeeny meeny miney mo, it's time for The Shiny Show . . . '

weesaidie · 16/11/2005 14:47

I think she had an influence on pop music (and I even liked some of it!) but in my eyes that does not make someone important. She'd need to influence a lot more that pop music to do that! And she didn't influence me just because I danced to some of her music...

GuyRichie · 16/11/2005 14:51

OI! My missus aint no slag unless I tell her, I'm a dead 'ard London laaaaaaaaad, my films are overrated and so's me missus, bring on the readies.

expatinscotland · 16/11/2005 14:53

LMFAO, 'Guy'.

What a poser he is. Funny as hell.

I remember one of my work colleagues brought in 'Sex'. Never laughed so hard in my life.

Bet she wishes that one would go away . . .

doormat · 16/11/2005 14:54

eanney lets be honest
she has no concept of reality has she

as for taking the piss
I think madonna has
by wearing tweeds and flatcaps
thinking she is emulating the english way of life
far too outdated imo

also keyword
madonna=re-invent

look at those women like tina turner, cher amongst others
whether you like them or not
they have talent and have been able to carry on
pulling audiences without re-inventing themselves
only kicking their husbands to the kerb

donnie · 16/11/2005 14:55

well, I'm a few years younger than Madonna and also have 2 children. I reckon if I had the following:
several million pounds ( So no money worries ever)
the best record producers money can buy
the best publicists money can buy
the best session musicians
the best backing singers

then I could make a half decent record. And also , if I had:
the best nutritionists
the best personal trainers
the best hairstylists
the best make up artists
the best photographers
the best nannies

then I too would look like her and not tired half the time like I do.

I agree she has some talent, but let's not get carried away....it's just records, not a cure for bleedin' cancer.

GuyRichie · 16/11/2005 14:57

Well I think she is fab, but I would sort my teeth out if I had that much money.

I like her eyebrows.

oliveoil · 16/11/2005 14:58

ahem

NomDePlume · 16/11/2005 14:58

hahahahahaha donnie. So, so true. I love this thread

donnie · 16/11/2005 14:58

do you mean the gap between her chompers ? well, in medieval times such a feature was sexually alluring as it indicated high sex drive....so maybe our Madge has been reading her Chaucer like a good girl....then again, maybe not!

swings · 16/11/2005 15:03

Oh gawd, I really didn't want to come back to this thread but Rhubarb and expatinscotland, you're really so unpleasant. Eenymeeny has a right to say what she wants without you resorting to schoolgirlish insults. It's pathetic. She's not insulting you so why do it to her? Just discuss rather than be unkind.

Yes, now you'll say 'parp' or something and guffaw to yourselves.

noddyholder · 16/11/2005 15:03

eeney I am not sure she gives a monkeys about being defended by one of us little people so stop getting yourself all worked up she's not worth it

oliveoil · 16/11/2005 15:04

is this not a jokey thread?

Thought it was but have only skimmed it I must say.

twik · 16/11/2005 15:06

Blimey, this thread's hilarious. A real example of how massively different women's viewpoints are.

Lots of nasty mumsnetters aren't there? Something to be proud of I'm sure.

saadia · 16/11/2005 15:08

She has influenced other musicians but I wouldn't say for the better. I think she's influenced female singers (Britney, Beyonce, Christina etc) to use sex to sell music. IMO this has cheapened them - you don't see male vocalists semi-clad and cavorting in their videos

handlemecarefully · 16/11/2005 15:21

I think she looks much better than many 20 somethings exposing their flabby midriffs in crop tops in the middle of November....If they must indulge in MacDonalds and binge drinking then do the rest of us a favour and cover up so we don't have to see the results.

tsk!

expatinscotland · 16/11/2005 16:06

Miaow, swings. It's a thread about friggin' Madonna, ffs!! Of course Eeney is entitled to her opinion, as anyone else is. And mine about you in unchanged from the other night: take a chill pill, lady! You find me unpleasant b/c I don't like Madonna and think she looks like a raggedy ol' ho? Do I appear bothered?

Blimey!

expatinscotland · 16/11/2005 16:07

'you don't see male vocalists semi-clad and cavorting in their videos'

Saadia, have you seen 'Chico time' on the Xfactor .

swings · 16/11/2005 16:10

Of course I don't find you unpleasant because you don't like Madonna. Truth is I'm not a fan either. I find you unpleasant because of the way you reply to other people, especially the 'in house' jokes you make with 'mates.' And I really don't like women slagging other women off because of their appearance. I agree with lots of intelligent posts on here against Madonna.

And no I wouldn't expect you to be the slightest bit bothered, you're so clearly chilled out yourself.
