just seen a trailer with the gorgeous Captain Jack and Gwen. No idea when it will be shown bit I'm so happyyyy. We really thought they'd killed it off with the last series.

Anyone know when it's coming??!!

I just deleted it off Sky+, having got as far as ep3. Just marking my place so I can see how it ends and be thankful I didn't waste seven more hours of my life

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 14:58

Hopefully the US TV company will have considered it a failure so we get it back in Cardiff next time. I just know I'm going to hate the end but can't stop watching

AitchTwoOh · 26/08/2011 15:05

if you have made it this far, don't stop. but yyy if you're on ep3 delete away.
i've just watched let's kill hitler for the fourth time, now there's a gift that keeps on giving.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/08/2011 15:08

I'm enjoying it Blush this is the first series that I've really watched though.

mary no doubt we carry on in the vague hope that something will happen... trouble is I end up having a drink to get me through it

encyclogirl · 26/08/2011 15:13

I must be very easily pleased because I'm bloody glued to it. It's the only Must See TV in my life right now.

Jack was very waxy and unsexy in the sex scenes I thought, but I loved the rest of it. Ratty was also NOT in any way handsome which didn't help my enjoyment of those scenes.

The butcher part was just horrific.

Loved Gwen though, she's always excellent value.

AitchTwoOh · 26/08/2011 15:15

the idea is sensational, i think... i am stunned that this is what they are making of it, though. esp after CoE. am so wanting to hear what the blessed rtd has to say about it all.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/08/2011 15:23

Tbh, I think I'm enjoying it because I am not a dr who fan, iykwim, I don't really care about aliens/time travel or nemesis' I'm enjoying it as a stand alone series.

And I heart gwen.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/08/2011 15:25

I agree with aitch, the idea is brilliant.

whatkungfuthat · 26/08/2011 16:53

Now I'm wondering if the other guy's eye had anything to do with it, its driving me that mad. Barrowman always looks a bit waxy these day, I can't think of him as attractive since I read about the shit flicking incident.

You may need the brain bleach Maryz, but I read in an interview with him about when he was in a stage show and had an upset stomach. He sharted and couldn't go off stage. He said as he was doing high kicks he was flicking bits on the front row.

HarrietJones · 26/08/2011 17:32

I was wondering that too but too scared to ask

Sorry, perhaps I should have pm'd that Blush

fidelma · 26/08/2011 21:36

They have lost the plot.It gets more horiffic each week.I could do without alot of thoes images in my head.(and I am not talking about the sex, which I also didn't like) will keep going for the last 3 episodes. I don't think this will do JB image much good........

Acekicker · 26/08/2011 21:56

This felt more like Torchwood should, especially with the nods to Doctor Who (RUN! and then charging down a corridor etc).

I clearly need to bake some humble pie to eat during next week's episode as 3rd Rock Chap is coming back based on what I saw in the trailer...

WorzselMummage · 26/08/2011 22:02

I've given up, watching it embarrases me, it's ridiculous.

RTD was crap at Dr Who And now he's ruined Torchwood.

Disappointing :(

Pixel · 26/08/2011 22:24

There was a lot I couldn't even watch.

" I don't think this will do JB image much good........"
I actually said out loud "JB what have you done?". I've been to a couple of his live music shows and there were a lot of older people in the audience, plus with that cheesy programme on saturdays (sorry couldn't bear to watch after first one) aimed I imagine at a similar audience, I think he's putting a whole side of his career at risk. Perhaps he thinks that section of his 'fans' are unlikely to be watching stuff like Torchwood.

StringOrNothing · 27/08/2011 00:34

I'm slightly baffled at posters who've settled down to watch an episode of Torchwood and are complaining about the badly written gay sex scenes. Have you considered watching a show that isn't Torchwood?

Now trying to guess what the ridiculous plot device is that's revealed in the last two episodes.....is it police pensions fund contributions Aitch? I got to the end of The Shadow Line, no plot is too contrived for me.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 27/08/2011 00:46

Bloody hell that was bad Grin

RTD has fucked this one up, hugely. Torchwood was a brilliant, brilliant spin off.

Yuck to the sex - have no issue with the gay aspect, it was just unnecessary. Yuck to the rat-man. Yuck to the stabbing of pens into wounds.

Go Esther.

Pixel · 27/08/2011 01:52

It's not the 'gayness' I object to. I'm a born and bred Brightonian fgs, I'm not sheltered in that way at all.Grin
And I watch it because I'm a Doctor Who fan who has enjoyed Torchwood as a spin-off, but I now think they are just trying to shock for the sake of it. It wouldn't grate so much if there was a decent plot to back it up.

(btw, I'm increasingly impressed by Jack's immortal coat. It doesn't matter how many times he gets shot or stabbed or blown up, the coat survives without so much as a scorch mark.Wink)
