I hope Niko dies a 'orrible death watched by all the girls who then run back home to their families.

Think Gilou is in deeper than we know because of previous dealings with vice girls.

Pierre's gonna get his place done over by the scrawny lad who is now in love with him.

Just don't believe Roban's love for pupil's mother. He's got dead fish eyes - no emotion. I think he's meant to be in love but feel his acting is awkward and he's much better at the cold calculating bits.

As for pupil getting caught on laptop camera - serves him right. Did he really think he was so irresistible that a young woman would let him roger away after just a brief exchange at work. He deserves to be stitched up for being naive and judgemental about Roban and his mum.

Like ginger lawyer - she's looks clean with lovely hair for starters unlike the rest of the cast. I like the tension that she's playing really close to the wind and likely, at any moment, to come a cropper dealing with all those nasty kneecapping types.

And finally, Laure - get a shower, love. Smelling of sex at work is not good, you dirty, dirty girl.

aloiseb · 28/04/2011 23:56

Depends what you work as, I'd say! Lawyer, police capitaine, pupil, juge.... the list goes on.

Yes I did watch it but missed so many bits that I had to watch it all again (sorry DH.....) Fab episodes though i could have done without the boobs in a jar.

Also EVERYBODY could do without Niko - he seems to be fond of railway bridges, so why doesn't somebody just push him under a train?

Wolfgirl · 29/04/2011 20:42

doings ha ha, funny

Wolfgirl · 29/04/2011 20:53

mammamoomin replied to your email, so sorry for tardy response. Hope you understand when you open my mail xxx

generalhaig · 30/04/2011 12:40

just discovered Spiral in a bid to feed my euro-crime addiction which was stoked by The Killing and also to improve my French

It's all very gritty isn't it? It's much less subtle than The Killing but interesting enough for a Saturday night ...

What I can't get over is the state of their teeth! It's made me realise how ubiquitous orthodontic treatment is here now, and quite how much dental work most British actors must have had done, let alone Americans. Even the hunkier specimens have teeth which are very much au naturel ...

MatthewChloe · 01/05/2011 01:14

I'm devastated that this time next week it will be over! Sad

Love the Laure/Bremont/Gilou passion-tension triangle! Am in love with Pierre. And shall be having nightmares about Ronaldo Shock

And yes general the teeth are interesting, especially Roban's. Anyone else think that with that hair and those teeth he looks a bit like a chinese crested dog ?

muminlondon · 01/05/2011 10:43

Poor Pierre, but you could see that coming a mile off and Josephine was right. For a moment I was nervous she would use this trial to humiliate Pierre but maybe being up against Szabo gives her something to really fight for.

What about Nadia, eh? Is she spying on Laure for Bremont? I don't think it is Tintin, though it could be Big Teddy.

LovelyOakDresser · 01/05/2011 19:43

MatthewC Grin Poor Roban!

Yes, muminlondon there's something to Nadia; she's always watching but not talking!

And possibly 'Vlad' could be someone we already know? Bugeyes? Szabo? Bremont? Shock

muminlondon · 01/05/2011 20:41

That could be interesting! But weren't Nico and the other one speaking Albanian? Szabo sounds like a Hungarian name but I'm not sure either way.

aloiseb · 02/05/2011 20:16

OMG OMG OMG HE'S BEHIND YOU!

There isn't any prospect of anybody stopping Ronaldo, is there? Please, please, somebody tell me Roban or somebody happens to be in the bar around the corner?

Not quite sure of Vlad's motivation in wanting Ronaldo killed. Obviously he could give away the prostitution ring, but why/how did they get involved with each other in the first place? Have I missed something? OK, he's killing the girls, but Vlad could give a FF about that I bet.

It would be good if "Vlad" was Bug-Eyes - he's so horrible too, it would be a neat ending.

Tootired your words "Pierre is being very naive about Dylan - will all end in tears, mark my words." have turned out to be very prophetic! Moral: don't try to be kind to anyone in Paris? Oh dear.

TooTiredToArgue · 04/05/2011 13:22

Just caught up on iplayer as had visitors at weekend. Powerful stuff. Was on edge of my seat (well, sofa actually).

I know it's not subtle, like 'The Killing', but I still think it's excellent TV.

Hope the badly disguised Ronaldo (couldn't he buy a wig or something, rather than just putting his hood up???) doesn't get to use his new knife/string/tape. Could Gilou rush to poor gal's rescue and get loads of brownie points so shooting in squat thing all forgiven and forgotten? And whoever said he was jealous about Bremont was absolutely right - not surprised Laure was fed up with all his digs.

Poor Pierre. Yes, AloiseB, don't like to say 'I told you so' Wink, but he had it coming. I'm intrigued to see how the trial will pan out between Szabo and Karrlson. Blimey, he has even bigger bags under his eyes than me!

Sadly, though I think it would be fantastic if Vlad were Bug-Eyes, I think it's unlikely. I don't think we'll ever actually see him - do hope the horrible Niko gets his comeuppance.

Oh, and trying not to relive the moment when we see Roban in bed (naked!) with Isabelle. She obviously doesn't mind his teeth then!Grin

P.S. If the Spiral ends next week, do we think Killing 2 might be on next in the Saturday night slot?

doings · 04/05/2011 13:35

I'm glad I stuck with this because it's turned out good. I thought it was a bit neurotic after Kool Killing but it's warmed up nicely and now like all the intrigue and story threads.

Shit scared of falling foul of the law in France though. Is it really so riddled with corruption and delaying tactics? I hope this is all artistic licence.

Like ginger lawyer more every week but think it's because she's the only clean one.

Like the idea TooTired that Killing 2 follows this series - excellent TV run if it does.

TooTiredToArgue · 04/05/2011 13:57

doings just wishful thinking on my part. But agree, would be great if it was......

Blackduck · 04/05/2011 16:30

Redhead will get him off - great blog on this in Guardian. They are on 'Nadia' watch - what does she DO, beside screw up (or is that deliberate?)

muminlondon · 04/05/2011 23:10

I still think she's a spy Blackduck! Agree that this series has really hotted up now - still miles better than most of the other drama on TV, and just different from The Killing...

According to the RT there's an Icelandic film noir on Sunday 10pm (Jar City) and a French film on the following Saturday at 9pm (Female Agents).

aloiseb · 04/05/2011 23:39

I thought Killing 2 wasn't going to be on until the autumn (probably due to pressure from jumper salespersons, who have never shivered through a British summer holiday)

There seems to be something called Rubicon on BBC4 on Thursdays at 10pm and Mondays at 11pm - don't know if that is a crimeish thing? anybody watched it?

I am looking hollowly ahead to the immediate future of long bleak Saturday nights with nothing on TV but "Britains got talent".....now there's a statement for an incident board if ever there was one)...maybe someone at BBC4 will take pity on us and schedule a rerun of Wallander in Swedish - some of us still haven't caught up with the 2nd series, honest??

BTW I would take issue with the idea of Josephine being the only clean one...although everything is relative! She did take that fellow's 40000 euros into her own bank account and then lied about it to him, so that he got beaten up.

I loved her phrase "ne sorte pas des violons" when Pierre was getting worried about Dylan. She was so right.

aloiseb · 04/05/2011 23:41

tootired I hadn't noticed Roban's teeth! Will look out for them....

Blackduck · 05/05/2011 11:22

Josephine is no way the only clean one (if you had seen series 2 you'd know just how extremely dodgy she is! Sell her own grandmother that one....!)
Oh Jar City - good book....might watch that...

pawsnclaws · 05/05/2011 12:59

DH is in Paris over the next few days, I've told him to mind his p's and q's and not get into any trouble with the law Wink.

doings · 05/05/2011 13:00

No, no aloiseb and Blackduck I meant clean as in washed Smile. Rest of them all have dirty fingernails I'll bet.

TooTiredToArgue · 05/05/2011 13:16

Jar City looks good. Look! The jumper and incident board makes me feel right at home www.imdb.com/media/rm2705232384/tt0805576

doings · 05/05/2011 16:41

Ooh, yes. Thanks for this TTTA. Will be Sky+ing this one.

aloiseb · 06/05/2011 23:34

oh ok, doings, i see what you mean! Not sure if her teeth are any good though they must be nicer than Roban's???

I will Sky+ Jar City I think, though it may be deleted before watching.

Tried watching "Shadowthingy" with C Eccleston last night. Kept falling asleep. Gave up at 9.20. Was it just me, or was it exceptionally dull?

foxinsocks · 07/05/2011 19:23

V excited about tonight! Getting kids in bed early ;-)

teej · 07/05/2011 23:22

well.... such a satisfying ending... and yet not in some respects....

mmm don't want to post too much until everyone has seen it but suffice to say the plot was really quite obvious - but it was still an enjoyable ride if you know what I mean? good pacing in the last 2 eps, characters were consistent, nice lead into series 4 if the comments about that are correct...
so all in all a thumbs up here.

oh and at the crucial moment i will admit to being a bad person and saying "yesssssss!" but he was literally asking for it, no?
