I agree JudithMarie, I hadn't seen series 1 or 2 (yet) and am still a bit at sea with French judicial system - even though your link helped a bit, muminlondon, thanks for that.

I already like Gilou's style - he got that list from his friend in the homeless shelter with artless panache while Laure was busy shouting at people, didn't he? Hope he doesn't really get his transfer.

Maybe Laure should borrow one of Lund's jumpers - the weather really didn't look warm enough for that tiny tee-shirt.

Also on a sartorial note - can you really blame the hunky magistrate guy for throwing that revolting-looking white crimplene tie in the bin? My mother made nicer looking pleated lampshades in the 1970s.....

TooTiredToArgue · 04/04/2011 13:39

Agreed, Aloiseb. It's a bit frou-frou for him. I have to admit to finding his voice/accent very sexy. Even when he kept having to say the same thing in court. Phwwwwwahhhhh!

God, don't I sound like a desperate housewife?

crunchbag · 04/04/2011 14:24

Just watched it on Iplayer and enjoyed it very much :)
So we are looking for a man, most likely in his 50's, who has a good anatomical knowledge and likes dark haired girls. Right bring on the next episodes.

Still missing the jumpers and nicotine gums :( Wink

aloiseb · 04/04/2011 22:41

tootired I think he must have been doing that on purpose!

I am looking forward to finding out what that guy did in series 1 and 2. Will have to get that DVD (from library? suppose it depends whether librarian is a subtitles detective show fiend too)

muminlondon · 05/04/2011 15:18

aloiseb it's quite cheap to get series 1 and 2 as a set from Amazon - under £16. Compared to The Killing at nearly £40.

aloiseb · 05/04/2011 23:00

ohhh no that's tempting! we are saving for the holidays though.....thanks anyway mumin

aloiseb · 08/04/2011 22:45

did I kill the thread??

muminlondon · 08/04/2011 23:44

hmmmm how would our Euro sleuths answer that? Sarah Lund would just stare at you, lip slightly curled, chewing her nictotine gum, daring you to make a confession ... while Laure would push you into the interview room, fiddle with her t-shirt at the shoulder and frown nervously, while Petit Gilou gets his knuckle dusters out...

TooTiredToArgue · 09/04/2011 08:32

Or, Laure would dash out of the office to find potential witness. Shout at them a bit, and make a few empty threats. Find a dead body, and then go for a quick kip in the car. Smile

So, no, Aloiseb, haven't killed the thread, fear not. Looking forward to tonight....

Hello... can I join in?

I've just watched Series 1 and 2 on DVD and quiet happy to send it to anyone if they want to borrow...

You don't need to have seen either of them for series 3 as there is only little links from one to the other..... Laures relationships change more frequently than her t-shirts.... must say that her hair is looking better this series... the change between 1 and 2 made her age about 10 years... imo..... Took me 15 minutes into series 2 to finally work out it was her....

Pierre - did a lot in series 1.... made a few enemies (at work) in series 2..... so looking forward to seeing what happens to him in series 3... and lets hope he doesn't cop off with any journalists who clearly are not worthy of him.....

Laura - overly flirty in the first series.... stressed with bad hair in the second and shouty on the verge of a breakdown so far in series 3...

still not a patch on the Killing - anyone know when series 2 of that will be on?????

teej · 09/04/2011 22:57

can i just say, fellow sleuths
the person who pushed the prostitute down the steps at the end did not physically look or act like a 50+yr old?
Hmm

teej · 09/04/2011 23:00

oooops...
please do join in. we don't have as many obsessives enthusiasts here yet but we're still hopeful Grin

just to go off topic for a sec, mamma i adored the moomins as a child and am brainwashing encouraging my DCs to like them too so i heart your nickname.

teej · 09/04/2011 23:01

oh and Killing2 is autumn I think mamma

muminlondon · 10/04/2011 00:00

It's strange watching this one in double bills because it moves so fast. I've seen quite enough police brutality for one night. And then Gilou prised his beer open with his gun...

Judge Roban was very slinky this week, in a purry cat getting the cream sort of way.

teej · 10/04/2011 00:35

mumin have to say DP & i sniggered at Gilou opening his beers with his gun Wink

TooTiredToArgue · 10/04/2011 08:22

I laughed at that too, Mumin and Teej. He's just so tough, isn't he? Is it just me, or did anyone else think Laure was moving in for a snog with P Gilou, but then thought better of it? I'm not sure how she's going to make it through the whole series, the way she's going....

And Shock at Judge Roban. He is a dark horse, isn't he? On the first date (well, for 25 years) as well!

muminlondon · 10/04/2011 08:36

I was sniggering through quite a lot of it - but maybe also as a nervous reaction to the violence and racism.

Roban's all powerful secretary who can whip up a witness statement in seconds, Pierre asking Josephine to teach him how to bite (growl tiger!), Judge Roban's melodramatic moment in the hospital picking up the pillow. And the incest storyline?!! (Does anyone remember Gainsbourg's 'Lemon Incest' duet with Charlotte? The epitome of French seediness)

And I am still waiting for Nounours to speak.

muminlondon · 10/04/2011 08:43

TooTired I don't think they were that close before but I suppose each of them has had to cover for the other at various times. I do like Gilou. He was funny about her sleeping in the car.

TooTiredToArgue · 10/04/2011 08:58

Quite right, Mumin. Nounours is a bear man of few (if any) words. And the Judge's secretary must surely hold the record for the fastest typing in the world?!?!

Old Bug eyes just as repulsive as ever.

muminlondon · 10/04/2011 11:10

That's one thing you have to admire about French film/TV - they have some damn good character parts for all the older, jolie-laide, or just plain ugly types around.

Wolfgirl · 10/04/2011 15:23
Prunnhilda · 10/04/2011 15:59

We've just watched series 1 (in anticipation of catching up with 3) and I'm kind of desperate to know more about the ending.

Does anyone know, a) What was Roban trying to tell the Proc at the end, as they are walking through the woods? Was it that he felt paternal towards him, or was it more of a bromance brewing there?

And b) the body in the plastic bag - was it a random body, a new case, and nothing to do with the series, really, or was it someone from the series? We thought either Laborde (the untouchable government sleazebag) or the guy who said he'd killed his disabled son.

mammamoomin · 10/04/2011 19:20

Wolfgirl if you private message me your address then I'll send them onto you... if you just return them when you are done then that will be fine...

Haven't seen last nights episodes yet as I fell asleep on the sofa... oops... but now that DD is in bed asleep, going to watch them....

Punnhilda Bit at the end of series one, I think he feels fatherly towards him, sees himself in there someone... don't think it was a sexual connection.... and given how they seem to miss out vital info from series to series then I think the body was just a body and not anything connected... but could be wrong...

Wolfgirl · 10/04/2011 20:35

yey, yey, yey!!!!!!!!!!!! don't have the PM service, so mail me here...

delyth dot wolfram at blueyonder.co.uk
