What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

She didn't did she - didn't she say "I've never seen you look so young"?

Which could mean 'unencumbered by cares and weights of the world' rather than physically young.

PortBlackSandwitch · 02/05/2011 00:12

Did she Lily? - sorry got that wrong then.....yes he obv had the weight of the worlds on his shoulders then by the time she first meets him....

ll31 · 02/05/2011 02:31

Think A my will - at end of this drs series - turn out to be responsible for his death/regeneration.. not sure if its as part of this story ie silence - or not.. but I could be completely wrong and prob am..

I liked this episode tho - I like in general the matt smith dr - think there is so much in all the episodes - its like a detective story trying to put it together

LilyBolero · 02/05/2011 10:58

Had ANOTHER thought - when the Silents say "Amelia Pond - we do you honour - you will bring the Silents" - perhaps over the 5 days they had her, they have actually hypnotised HER to cause the cracks. And they came through the cracks. And the cracks were caused by the TARDIS exploding, so perhaps they made her control the TARDIS in some way, and explode it..?

Don't know how that ties in with the baby thing, though the flicking Pos/Neg thing could be because it is dependent on future events.

feelathome · 02/05/2011 19:34

A few years ago there was an episode called the Doctors Daughter. At the end she went off to have adventures of her own. So there is another time lord knocking around in space and time somewhere. Could the little girl be her?

LilyBolero · 02/05/2011 22:05

Jenny was more of a clone than his actual daughter - and we don't know if she can regenerate. And Georgia Moffett who played her has been busy having David Tennant's baby (lucky thing!).

As an aside, that baby has David Tennant as a father, the 'Doctor's Daughter' as a mother (and therefore DT is a sort of grandparent as well....), and just to confuse things, Georgia Moffett is the daughter of Peter Davison, so in RL the 5th Doctor is her grandfather. I bet the baby HATES Dr Who!!!

loved it. loved it loved it loved it! got so many unanswered questions though! river is just fantastic (i suspect DH has a crush on her but then again....so do i)

cant wait for next one!

wonka · 02/05/2011 23:17

I think River Song is in the space suit, she was in prison for killing the best man she ever knew?
Flesh and stone - end of the episode the dr and amy ? got it on. So maybe Amy is pregnant with the dr's baby

hmc · 02/05/2011 23:20

I very nearly switched off - just getting too ridiculous and far fetched for me

ThatVikRinA22 · 03/05/2011 00:27

moffat has recorded several different endings for this so no one knows what the hell is going on!
i do love it though.

scatteredbraincells · 03/05/2011 08:35

Do you remember when in the end in the TARDIS and as he was sneakily doing a scan the doctor said to Amy "after all you onyl live once". I wonder whether that was not a throw-away comment... as in she has lived more than once...

seeksnewname DT didn't trust River Song at all in the library until she told him his real name...

HarrietJones · 03/05/2011 09:43

Just marking my place. This is going to be a looonnnngggg season

Ripeberry · 03/05/2011 14:51

What freaks me out is when Amy was going along the corridor and she spots a 'woman'? looking out of a hatch on the door and he/she has a metal patch on it's right eye.
It says "Oh, she is only dreaming" and the hatch closes. When Amy gets closer to the door it seems to not have a hatch......spooky!

ComeAlongPond · 03/05/2011 15:05

That scared me too, Ripeberry!

I can't wait until the next episode. A week seems like such a long time!

HarrietJones · 03/05/2011 16:42

I know, not going to be happy with the summer break , especially if it stops on a cliffhanger

Saltire · 03/05/2011 18:23

I think I am giving up with this series of Dr Who, my brain can't take it

c0rn51lk · 03/05/2011 19:15

watched it again with the ds's
the silence made a big thing of Amy having being with them for 'many days'
so what happened in the 3 months between episodes?
Also 3 months before the start + 6 months before we see the little girl at the end = 9 months and a baby???

LilyBolero · 03/05/2011 19:17

They had Amy for 5 days - the time between ApolloXI taking off and Neil Armstrong landing on the moon.

I am not clear on what "Silence/Silents will fall" means - this was the phrase last series - does it mean the race of Silents will fall?

c0rn51lk · 03/05/2011 19:23

the silence said that she had been there for 'many days' but that her memory was weak

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 19:26

DR Who obsessed DD says the little girl is Sarah, the Drs grandchild.

bullet234 · 03/05/2011 19:29

Does she mean Susan cocolepew?

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 19:36

Oh yeah, she said Susan Blush

c0rn51lk · 03/05/2011 19:42

how the blardy hell does she know that?

tiredlady · 03/05/2011 21:26

Have just seen it on iplayer and not understood a blardy thing. Does Amy really love the Dr instead of Rory?

bullet234 · 03/05/2011 21:59

I've got an outside theory that it might be Susan as well. But DH pointed out to me that most people of our age or younger aren't that familiar with the character, so they may not think it's worthwhile reintroducing her. She left even before Barbara and Ian.
