What do you think of this? And when does it start? Could you stand the wait over the summer, or is it a godsend?

Not convinced by the Susan theory!

The reason we know it was 5 days is because when she disappeared, the Apollo launch was happening, and then when she was rescued Neil Armstrong was just landing on the moon. Which was 5 days travel.

I need to rewatch Vampires in Venice - there were some clues in that one. They said they ran from the Silents/Silence (still not decided which - the trailers last year all read "SILENCE WILL FALL" but the monsters are called The Silents - so could be either).

PatriciaHolm · 03/05/2011 23:52

According to the BBC website, they are called the Silence (with the singular form of a silent), so the comments about "silence will fall" etc are quite likely to refer to them, I would guess.

I like theory that River is Amy's daughter (and potentially the little girl too)

ComeAlongPond · 04/05/2011 00:34

Who the tossing fuck is Susan?

I don't think she does, tiredlady. I'd prefer it if she did tbh. But I doubt the Doctor's going to go around wrecking people's marriages. And as wet as Rory is, I don't want him to be bumped off.

bullet234 · 04/05/2011 07:22

Susan was Susan Foreman (assumed name, we don't know her real one) who was the granddaughter of the first Doctor and his first travelling companion. It was because of her attending Coal Hill School in London, when the TARDIS was undergoing repairs, that two of her teachers, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton discovered the TARDIS and became the first non Gallifreyan travelling companions.

bullet234 · 04/05/2011 07:31

She left after her grandfather unceremoniously locked her out of the TARDIS after she fell in love with a man called David, on Earth, after defeating a Dalek invasion there, telling her she had to live on her own, as she could not make the decision to stay travelling with him, or be with David. Since it is feasible she regenerates and since she was presumably away from Gallifrey during the Time Wars, then there is a chance that she has pitched up again.

ComeAlongPond · 04/05/2011 10:52

Aaahhhhh. I see. Thank you. I thought it was some character from this series and I had just completely missed something utterly vital. Like a whole person.

teej · 04/05/2011 15:52

Am still musing over eppies 1 and 2, but in the meantime...

... just had a quick nosey at the prequel to the next episode while the kettle was boiling

wonka · 04/05/2011 18:33

teej you really aught to get some linctus...
I still think with the ending of Flesh and Stone baby has the potential to be the dr's?

HarrietJones · 05/05/2011 09:19

Didn't he push her off though?

wonka · 05/05/2011 14:35

He did at first and then he looked at the time and said the entire universe might depend on him sorting her out right now....

LilyBolero · 05/05/2011 14:45

But he meant sorting her out with Rory! Cos then he went and jumped out the cake at Rory's stag night....

LilyBolero · 05/05/2011 14:46

And bearing in mind it's a family show, I think a Jeremy Kyle-esque DNA test is unlikely......"WHO'S the Daddy......tonight we find out the truth" - (did'ya see what I did there?)

ComeAlongPond · 05/05/2011 15:48

Graham would have a whale of a time with the Doctor, Amy and Rory. Good old Graham.

HarrietJones · 05/05/2011 16:40

I thought you meant Graham Norton for a minute

ComeAlongPond · 06/05/2011 10:57

Well I'm sure he'd enjoy himself too.

BertieBotts · 06/05/2011 22:58

Yeah, the doctor definitely didn't look comfortable with Amy jumping on him. I don't think they got it on. He knew she'd regret it and also I don't think he sees her in that way.

I've just watched the entirety of series 5 in a week. Think I'm ready for tomorrow night now Grin

HarrietJones · 07/05/2011 13:17

Saturday bump!

BertieBotts · 07/05/2011 18:11

5 minutes Grin

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 07/05/2011 19:14

i think the woman is looking in a hatch and Amy is in some sort of institution - but which is real and which isnt??
she said she saw hundreds of psychiatrists as a kid because of the raggedy doctor

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 07/05/2011 19:15

Actually i'm not really sure of that at all Confused - toooo many different stories going on and my brain hurts....

lucykate · 07/05/2011 19:19

just seen a tweet about tonights doctor who which made me lol...

"Hugh Bonneville character in tonight's Doctor Who seemed to really love jolly rogering until a siren took out an injunction"

BertieBotts · 07/05/2011 19:27

Ooh no that's interesting Zillah. Have seen some theories that Amy is living simultaneously in two lives at once hence the pregnant/not pregnant thing. So being in an institution could make sense. But why, how when? Confused

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 07/05/2011 19:30

Unfortunately i still can't look at Amy without thinking of this

Ripeberry · 07/05/2011 20:26

Zillah, ha ha!. Even DD1 aged 8yrs says it looks like Amy Pond, and she knows nothing about 'The Young Ones'. Grin
