I assume you have to "trip" it - she stood on it with not enough force to dislodge the pin.

When she tripped the wire the pin did not come out - so when she lifted her foot off the wire, the pin went back in.

I don't think that they have enough on him tbh. I don't think that after all these years they will end up with him being kicked out.
