diddl because she was closing in on him, and therefore threatening to expose. Pictures with George.

Was GLUED to it.

Now want to watch every series again. Repeatedly. Obsessively. Like I do with the Sopranos.

smokinaces · 11/04/2011 22:17

Aaaaaaah yes, I remember Stella dying now. I remember Boyd wouldnt go and see her in hospital and then she died.

diddl · 11/04/2011 22:18

Yes, I thought it was the photo & panic-otherwise why not make evidence just "disappear"?

Still, last ever one, so didn´t really matter if she diedBlushGrin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/04/2011 22:18

I am going to watch the first series again. The only one I wouldn't want to see again is where Mel went off the roof and through Boyd's windscreen. I was so shocked.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/04/2011 22:20

Not that Mel was the first series but when I am working through.

He killed her as he couldn't just make the evidence disappear - if she had gone to those lengths, he wasn't going to be able to shut her up. He thought that they were in it together, that he had convinced her to turn boyd in for the cold case job.

Plus, he probably realised he could blame it all on boyd.

I am working my way through them all.

smokinaces · 11/04/2011 22:24

That Mel one freaked me too Piste.

I want to start again from series one. One of the first I remember is Grace in a house with blood handprints on the wall I think?

Is it bad to not realise Spence was in it from the beginning?!!

HalleLouja · 11/04/2011 22:33

Phew thank god for Spencer. He saved the day. I still love Grace too. Do you think.she would ever get her own spin off. They have left it open for more WTD action.

randomimposter · 11/04/2011 22:34

soooooooooooo tempting

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/04/2011 22:36

Very bad Smokin. You are bad. I remember an earlyish one of Spence being stabbed in the leg and dragging himself round some disused building. Bloomin tension.

With Mel it was mid series, totally unexpected.

Am going to get series one on a divvydee!

OP posts:
PfftTheMagicDragon · 11/04/2011 22:37

The used ones come up quite cheap on ebay, at least the earlier series do.

Oblomov · 11/04/2011 22:40

Had no idea, last series, how sad.

angrymomma · 11/04/2011 22:50

I have EVERY single episode of this programme on DVD...just keep watching them over and over in a loop.

Am gutted that it is finished.

Cannot for the life of me understand how they can get rid of a quality series like this, but shite like Coronation Street has been turgidly shlepped out for the last 100 years. The mind boggles

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/04/2011 22:51

Pfft - cheers! With the appliance of science and a bit of technology, I have bought WtheD from the comfort of my bed. Now I shall wait to enjoy it!! Only £8.99 Inc P&P.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/04/2011 22:52

That is £8.99 for series one! But my birthday is coming up.....

Go on Jollster - you know it makes sense. Grin

I usually watch the old ones in the day, when DD is napping. Of course, it's now the school holidays so I will have to wait until DS goes back to school to watch any more - not exactly child appropriate viewing is it?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/04/2011 09:33

Not entirely child friendly no! My DD is 13 and it's only on at 9. But she is too young I think. Normally though in term time there is little chance to watch tv anyway, too much homework!

Well they have emailed me to say Boyd is on his way, coming second class post. I shall be ready Grin

PfftTheMagicDragon · 12/04/2011 09:52
Grin

DS is 5, so no Boyd for him!

MollieO · 12/04/2011 09:56

Rather Trevior Eve is coming by post to your house?! What are you going to do with him? Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/04/2011 09:59

Firstly, I think I will unwrap him Grin

Wamster · 12/04/2011 10:21

OK, did I notice a mistake in last night's episode? Maybe I'm wrong (probably am!) but the bent copper's mum was clearly very pregnant on the night that his father was beaten to death in police custody. Now this night was New Year's Eve, 1959. But wasn't he born September 1960 on the police file? Could be wrong.

BlueberryPancake · 12/04/2011 11:01

wamster, well spotted, I think you are right! She did look about 7 months pregnant at Christmas!
