And yes baby must be renes and I thought the timings was right as series 2 was set right after 1 - just as 3 is set after 2 in timings iyswim

I've seen James Frain in other stuff but man oh man is he creepy in this! That Vamp makeup does him no favours at all. And does anyone else feel sick when they see Sam's Dad walking around in his vest and undies? Yuk! That twisty head thing was well weird too. I think one of those Werewolves was Patrick Swayze's brother if I'm not mistaken. Lovin Jason at the mo, I'm warming to him now. I wonder if they will do the scene from the trunk of a car in this season? Am sure it was in the third book.

wintera, re trunk, the bill/lorena scene reminded me of that in a way.
I hope (in a way) they do as it explains the next book and sookeh's reactions iysim (trying to be crypticGrin)

I really hope they do it because it was such a strong image from the book and as you say, would explain how Sookie's feelings change after that experience. I hope they don't cop out.

I'm sure they want to keep Bill as main character though, so I'm not sure how they will keep him involved as he drops off the radar after book 3.

Not that I'm bothered as we get more (a WHOLE lot more if they follow book 4) of Eric.

I'm intrigued who they are going to eventually cast as Quinn ! Although not sure when he makes his first appearance.

Northumberlandlass - Yeah I agree with you. By the looks of it they do want Bill to stay a main character so they will probably deviate a great deal from the books. I think Quinn appears in Book 5. I am also intrigued by who they will get to play him. They have been introducing some characters a lot sooner than in the books so you never know when he could turn up!

hmmm, re Quinn. I've always thought of him as a man mountain - although Alcide & Eric will be hard to beat.

I haven't thought who I would like to play Quinn, but I will sleep on it and get back to you, there was some talk of Vin Diesl (sp?)

Doesn't Quinn turn up in book 4 to 'referee' over the Were leadership? Can't remember clearly though, it ages ago I read it.

I thought Alcide was gorgeous too. Exceeded my expectations from the book even.

No-one can top Mr Northman though, although I do have a massive girl-crush on Pam too.

I heard Vin Diesel for Quinn too, think it was on here though. He's not doing much these days though is he so why not? That's certainly how I always pictured him anyway.

Summer, the books are quite different to the series. I have really enjoyed them, but saying that I find it fustrating when the series strays from the original story line.

So maybe I would enjoy the series better if I hadn't read the books!

They are a very easy read tho ! And my imagination is a lot better than the directors of the series when it comes to Eric love scenes.

I purposefully didn't read the books as generally when a series is 'based on' a series of books it just means they used the names of a few characters and the basic concept so I didn't think there was any great rush... I'm studying like mad atm and the last thing i need is a whole series of books to read Grin

I'm starting to think they might be worth getting into now though... it never bothers me much when a series/movie and the book diverge plots but it sounds like you guys who've read the books have some background details on a few of the characters that would be worth reading...... and then there's the Eric sex scenes obviously Wink Plue the prospect of losing Bill Compton by book 4 is very exciting, he's the worst part of the whole series imo

Oh really Bill goes off? Hmm seems strange just because he's been such a main character but I suppose they did that with Angel in Buffy. Another fab vampire show lol!

I read the books and the show is quite different. I kind of wish I hadn't as I spend much of the time thinking about it, rather than enjoying the programme.

I love Eric! Alcide is lovely too. I find Tara really annoying (must be the actress?). I don't like the Bill character at all, but I do think that is purposefully done.

the show creator said at the end of the second season that he saw Bill and Sookie as soulmates but he'd only read the first book at the time.
Hopefully things will change. Grin

Can I just ask, did I see the vampires having a drink? I thought I did and was really confused as it looked like they (can't remember who) was having an alcoholic drink but I thought all they could drink was Tru Blood or actual blood.

You know, I think it was when Bill walked back into his room just before he had his crazy session with that woman. Maybe it was just blood he was drinking looking like blood.

I do get confused by all these vampires. The ones in Vampire Diaries drink and I'm sure I've seen them eat AND they go out in the daylight. I need to keep up Grin
