Anyone else going to watch this?

OP posts:

I quite fancy DT, but he's too skinny to actually want to jump his bones. I'd be worried I'd break him. [hgrin]

MaudOHara · 26/10/2010 11:00

I think DT looks skinnier in clothes than not (judging by the scene on Sunday rather than personal experience sadly)

chocolatestar · 26/10/2010 13:09

The hotel was the hilton at the end of princess street.

Euphemyknifeinyourback · 26/10/2010 13:40

No not the one where they shagged (that was the Caledonian Hotel on Princes Street) - the one where DT met Rupert Graves for a drink.

potplant · 26/10/2010 13:46

The credit card bill for the hotel will be the way that it comes our he is shagging Sarah.

Like the double bluff about the kids not being his - I'll put my money on that one.

Which one is Tanya?

noeyedear · 26/10/2010 20:58

Tanya is DT's daughte by the one with the big hair who keeps turning up for no reason

chocolatestar · 27/10/2010 07:31

Oh that one! I dunno - it was lovely looking though.

muddlinleigh · 27/10/2010 12:22

The hotel they had lunch in was The Point on Bread Street.

What a perfect end to a great mini series. Series 2 anyine???

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 08:22

I really enjoyed it! Great last episode. Don't know what the story would be for series 2- presumably he wouldn't be a single father any more?

LIZS · 01/11/2010 08:34

Thought it was rather trite and a conveniently happy ending (if not so good for eldest daughter). DT was doing angst so well then they spoilt it.

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 01/11/2010 09:49

Really really disappointed with the ending Sad.

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 10:16

Actually, I must admit, I did want Sarah to just refuse to stay and bugger off do what Rita did with Stuart just for a change, but the rest of the episode, I enjoyed!

KnittingisbetterthanTherapy · 01/11/2010 10:28

Yes, she changed her mind bloody quickly Hmm.

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 11:03

Yes she did- considering she had it all planned out. It would have made a good second series if she had- how does he cope alone with the 4 kids, plus coping with long distance parenthood with another child. I think the ending was a bit 'happy ever after' for a second series.

potplant · 01/11/2010 11:10

I was a bit disapointed with the ending.

Firstly with Lucy, I know teenage girls can be a bit flighty but surely she would have agonised a little bit more. Secondly with the new woman, too happy ever after for me.

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 11:27

Potplant- I wasn't that surprised about Lucy- Brand new dad with money takes her to Italy, she's all starstruck until the reality hits and then she doesn't want to go. Sounds fair enough to me. Agree about new woman. Thought DT could have been a bit more forceful to his ex wife too. Should have told told her where to go instead of clamly explaining the money situation to her.

herbaceous · 01/11/2010 13:04

I was most disappointed with the ending. It didn't make sense, as far as I could see. If Sarah had just been using Dave to get pregnant, why was she so upset when he didn't want a relationship with her?

And had she manipulated him into the shagging in the first place? Taken advantage of his bereaved stage? In which case, why did he want to be with her?

On the other hand, if she'd got pregnant in order to keep him, why the change of heart about not wanting to muck up the other kids lives, etc?

Didn't like her much, really. In fact the only one I liked was Robin, the bumbling brother-in-law.

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 01/11/2010 13:47

When it finished last night, I thought "well, there's 4 hours of my life I won't get back". It wasn't disappointing enough to turn off at any point, there was a lot of potential, and it had some really good points, I think that the main problem was that it was a four parter, whereas if it had been a six parter there would have been space to explore some of the other issues - the ex-wife and daughter for example, who were mostly extraneous and served no purpose but to shag Sarah's Matt and reveal the presence of their relationship. I suspect that much more was written as a script and even filmed, but that lots was lost in the editing.

As a vehicle for DT it has probably done the trick in removing the "Dr Who" tag from him, but he would want to choose something a bit meatier next time perhaps?

fayeso · 01/11/2010 16:20

Did DT ever actually ride that bike-it was always cleverley cut when he got of it and I was laughing out loud at all of the concealed dismounts. Also found Robins hair colour not quite right-I would imagine he is grey though dies it dark brown....yuck it just looked so false...

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 19:53

Apparently, he hates football as well, and is really terrible at it, so they probably did editing there as well as the bike!

WingDad · 02/11/2010 02:43

Did anyone else think that the Paul and Euan actors MUST have been brothers because they look so alike. I was astounded to find they're not

I have to say I liked the series, it was enjoyable.

jardy · 02/11/2010 19:55

loved it,and sorry when it finished

sydom0 · 02/11/2010 22:51

I'm with "herbaceous"'s comments, really didn't get how Sarah would have had sex with DT at such a troubled time in all their lives, purely with the plan of falling pregnant, she could have done that with her own boyfriend before dumping him! That twist just didn't tie in or work for me. Then DT happily accepted her telling him that when he was shocked Rita had done that, bit odd & unbelievable. Any explanations? x
