This is not for a specific event, just a dress in general. My daughter doesn't wear dresses usually, so I was surprised when she bought it. I don't mind her wearing a dress, but I still wanted to ask for opinions.😁

All the She-ite from She-in is inappropriate. Because it's cheap, disposable tat made by slaves in China, and then shipped around the world.

Awful, awful company. Just buy non-slave made clothing from a shop which has to conform to UK standards. or get on Vinted.

Wizzardry · 01/01/2025 18:09

It would look out of place in Asda, pushing a trolley.

Where does she intend to wear it?

It looks like a special occasion dress rather than one for 'everyday' clubbing r whatever.

Wizzardry · 01/01/2025 18:11

It won't give much coverage of anything.

Boobs- strapless bra or none at all?

TBH I think young girls have to learn that you don't have to reveal everything to attract boys or attention.

Sorry.

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 01/01/2025 18:37

I don’t understand why young teenagers want to dress like 50year old at a party

user2848502016 · 01/01/2025 18:38

Yes it's fine

Addictforanex · 01/01/2025 18:45

Sidebeforeself · 01/01/2025 15:04

Please avoid Shein . Dress is fine!

( ooh that rhymes!)

Have I been mispronouncing SHEIN? Shee-in?

MrsSunshine2b · 01/01/2025 18:48

If she feels comfortable and happy in it, it's appropriate.

Sidebeforeself · 01/01/2025 18:53

@Addictforanex Dunno but it reads like ‘shine” to me!

Meredusoleil · 01/01/2025 19:32

I've heard it pronounced both ways: Sheen and Shine. No idea which, if either, is correct!

My beautiful DD was a bridesmaid at 14 and her dad and I took her home early because of the behaviour of the best man and groomsmen...
Shocking behaviour..
She still says she ignores them if she ever sees them (small town) .

You took her home rather than call them out?

Weird response.

Pretty classy, but I think that she's just been following the regular publicity about Harper Beckham's fashion choices in her public appearances...... there are definitely "worse" fashion influences she could be trying to emulate..... IMO....

Okay

localnotail · 01/01/2025 21:00

Nice dress? Why not?

DaringlyPurple · 02/01/2025 02:40

No, I don't think that is appropriate for a 15 year old. Now I am not trying to be a sour old woman and I wore plenty of short skirts in my time. I wouldn't have been allowed to wear that dress at 15 years old.

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 02/01/2025 08:40

I am baffled by the amount of people saying it’s ‘elegant’ or ‘classy’. It is none of those things.

15 year olds should be able to wear what they want. But that dress is fucking awful. Also as many other (sensible) people have said - shein. Absolute shudder.

GoldOP · 02/01/2025 09:24

19yr old dd has similar and wears it with trainers, looks lovely on and I prefer to see her in that than some of her other much skimpier clothing!

Fannyannie · 02/01/2025 09:26

Lovely dress. Perhaps she’s getting inspiration from Harper Beckham.

liveforsummer · 02/01/2025 09:28

This was not why I was expecting- absolutely it's appropriate but in surprised she's picked it (unless for a very formal gathering) dd is 15 and her and her friends choice of clothing is rather more revealing

Fannyannie · 02/01/2025 09:29

Shotokan101 · 01/01/2025 20:16

Sorry hadn’t read replies. We are on the same page. Looks like Harper will perhaps be a fabulous role icon. I realise Harper is a lot younger. But up to now has always dressed in an age appropriate way.

Oreyt · 02/01/2025 09:46

It's quite covered for a 15 year old. A bit frumpy I reckon.

CoraPirbright · 02/01/2025 17:58

I think it depends on the 15 year old. If she is one of those tiny, willowy ones, I think it would be ok (although I think a bit revealing and Shein as a company is hugely problematic). However if she is one of those massively booby, hourglass types, it would be a hard no from me.

Big difference between 19 and 15.

PinkLionFind · 02/01/2025 18:33

I think it depends on her figure. If she is very busty I would say no not appropriate….And also the footwear. If it’s trainers or flats fine but heels no.
