dd1 hasn't come home from school....

She was supposed to go to her mate's house for tea, then on a school organised walk, I was to pick her up at 8.30.

When I realised that her mate's mum had not rang me last night as promised, I told her to come straight home instead.

I rang the school to ask them to pass this message on to be doubly sure she came home

She hasn't.

I don't know whose house she is at, of even if she is there.... I don't know who is looking after her - or if anybody is.

I don't know who to call.

8.30 is a long way away.

What should I do? It seems a bit drastic to ring the police, but I don't know how else to get her home????
