dd1 hasn't come home from school....

She was supposed to go to her mate's house for tea, then on a school organised walk, I was to pick her up at 8.30.

When I realised that her mate's mum had not rang me last night as promised, I told her to come straight home instead.

I rang the school to ask them to pass this message on to be doubly sure she came home

She hasn't.

I don't know whose house she is at, of even if she is there.... I don't know who is looking after her - or if anybody is.

I don't know who to call.

8.30 is a long way away.

What should I do? It seems a bit drastic to ring the police, but I don't know how else to get her home????

Thats great news squonk Hope you are ok.

tigerschick · 12/06/2007 18:32

Hope you are both OK

CatIsSleepy · 12/06/2007 18:33

caught up with all this a bit late
sounds like you've had a stressful time squonk
glad she's turned up (and is penitent by the sound of it)
sort her out!

fryalot · 12/06/2007 18:37

she is home. She obviously has been to someone's house as she has somebody else's clothes on (her's got wet) and there was a strange bloke waiting with her that she told me was her friend's dad.

Glad she's ok. Have lectured her all the way home about the dangers of me not knowing where she is, and how much damage can be done to a girl in the 5 hours it would have taken for me to realise that she was missing.

Have told her that she is grounded until I have a comprehensive list of her friend's landline numbers and she is currently watching "in the night garden" with dd2.

So relieved and glad to have her back, but so, so cross with her.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, and advice.

God, mn is great!

Phew!

13 year old ds of a friend started behaving like this a while ago. The parents had to be fairly hard on him for a while. He got the message quite quickly thank goodness.

I think they get their first taste of freedom and go a bit mad for a time. But they find it rather scary too.

Hope your dd is ok.

Trinityrhino · 12/06/2007 18:38

I agree her staory doesn't seem to add up- got soaking wet somewhere- ok could happen, went to a friend's house to change- plausible so far, but then called you intears from a phone box? Friend's family don'y have a pne/ too tight to let her use it...

Glad she's back, and safe. I'm sure she will be better behaved in the future- buy her a new charger for her phone, and perhaps a free £5 top-up a month if she behaves responsibly, and you can call to check up on her?

tissy · 12/06/2007 19:47
