Ok, will keep this short . DD out for the day with aunt (husbands sis) who she loves. Generally all good .
Comes back after good day out and says DD had a Pina-Colada

I said this was not Ok - (introducing alcohol on special occasions in the form of small quantities is ok ) but that’s for me to decide isn’t it ?
I feel it’s given DD to have a drink with friends . If aunty says it’s ok then it’s ok ?There are reasons why drinking as a teen is harmful .
The brain is rewiring 🤷🏻‍♀️ . Simple fact alcohol effects the developing brain .
So AIBU ?

That's a bit of an over reaction, isn't it? The girl's 15 - she'll be old enough to get married in less than a year! Loosen the reins a bit.

Yeah, I would recognise a hangover, and have always smelled even a drop of alcohol on them.

One of your concerns was about the effècts on a teen's brain. Why do you let her drink if this is the case?

Chill Smile

Yes please Chill Flowers

To put this message to rest now
Yes, I still believe re the issues on the teenage brain
And I also said that I felt it was my job re special occasions !

Think everyone has added value to the conversation . Your question reservoirdog was answered in my opening statement .

For everyone else - I had a chilled out chat with my lovely SIL later we met half way over this . She understood my concerns and I understood her responsibility giving her a Pina colada and not a cosmopolitan (big difference)
Also chatted to teen dd . Showing her the differences in strength .

( I would still prefer to be asked first ...... by everybody else 😬 )

Once again thank you all
