Seriously, her only topics of conversation for the past three years have been

  1. herself

and

  1. how awful a mother I am and how unlucky she is to have me for a mother.

First I was bemused, then I was hurt, now I am bored. She's been like this since 14.

it's BORING!!!!!

She never asks me a question about myself, never discusses anything, comments on anything in the news or places she's been or books she's read - nothing - it's just all about her (or awful me)

Sympathy anyone?

Ok mines has just told her nine year old sister to stop talking about her T school.

Dd2 told dd1s friends little sister, who is her friend - wait for it - that dd1 has assessments this year and is worried and her school was on the news.

Full. On. Melt. Down.

Then she ironed her school shirt, it's been lying around, she's claiming someone has dropped toast on it and it must be me because it was near where I eat so I need to go clean it as she isn't doing it. Got her arse in her hands and stormed off to bed.

I've unceremoniously dumped the shirt on the stairs. Ironing board and iron are left lying out, I'm not amused. Apparently she only has three shirts and that is my fault too. She has three shirts and not one because despite me asking her from the start of the summer holidays to find shirts she didn't bother and I grabbed a double pack when I was in Asda.

Her pomposity would be hilarious if it didn't make me want to wring her neck.

Every night mine is a PIA - the worst is when she makes lots of noise and won't let her sister (7) go to sleep.
And I have to take her phone off her - otherwise she just doesn't go to sleep - she has been caught using it (YT) more than once at eg 2.30am.
I also take it off her for a day if she has been an absolute nightmare ...
Currently she is phoneless until Sat -such was her performance last night!
Gone midnight and she kept getting up, complaining that she couldn't sleep and she had nothing to read etc etc - she really struggled to get up this morning...she looks really tired...she is really tired...
Tonight they both have activities so DD2 is late to bed - and DD1 gets home just as she is trying to get to sleep.
By 9.50pm I am at the end of my patience...shouting GrinHmm 'silence!' at DD1.. exhaustion finally got the better of poor DD2 and she is asleep...
About 10 mins ago I'm downstairs in my office just cutting up some papers for my voluntary work with my guillotine - it makes a small squeak as I cut ...I can vaguely hear DD1 shouting something -'mum....' I'm trying to ignore - in the end I get up and go to the stairs and shout 'what!' ask her what can I do for her? Apparently the squeak is keeping her awake and she wants to sleep now ...
Tempted to go and do the cutting right outside her bedroom door...

Haven't read the thread can't be arsed tbh but maybe read up a bit about how a teenager's brain changes during this time?!

They're not programmed to think about anyone but themselves. A teenager asking how his or her mum is would probably be very screwed up.
