I’m getting my forearm blacked out tomorrow!

That’s it really! It’s currently a jumbled mess of a snake/ roses/ leaves but there’s no colour so it’s hard to distinguish what’s going on and I’ve never really liked it so I’m getting the whole arm between elbow and hand blacked out.

never had black out before, has anyone else? Seen it on other people (mostly cool guys in bands tho 😂)

Just be aware that you may feel hotter in the sun both because it's like wearing a black garment. Both because of the dark colour and because tattoos slightly impede sweating

You could have a white tattoo over the top in years to come. It'd look a bit like a chalkboard drawing, that'd be nice. Do come back and tell us about the experience OP. I watch a lot of InkMaster.

Laser isn't for large scale tattoos, and often doesn't remove all of the ink depending on age/depth/thickness of the tattoo! Blackouts are far cooler and you're going to be left with far more options. Like white tattoos over the top for example 😉

I wanted a blackout leg for ages but I have a habit of getting random tattoos so now I have both legs tattooed anyway.

My brother has a blackout tattoo and it looks amazing. Took 10 hours though!

Like anyone who is 90 with tatts will give a shiny shite how they look, we'll be more focused on not trying to trip up on flat surfaces. always makes me chuckle that comment 🤣

My mate is a tattoo artist, he posts lots of his work on Instagram. One of his customers recently blacked out her lower arm (he didn't do the original tattoos!) and it looks epic. Absolutely amazing. Another one did it in bands up the arm, which looks amazing. Another had white tattooed over a black out which is really interesting and very subtle and I thought looked gorgeous.

People always seem surprised when others contribute negatively on certain boards. It’s because if people are posting, it comes up on the list of active convos, so obviously anyone can see them, not just those interested in tattoos, and many probably don’t even notice the board heading, because it’s in tiny writing.

if I’m lucky enough to live to 90 while still in my right mind I doubt my blackout will be top of my list of regrets!

I will be smothering on the sun cream in summer that’s for sure.
