In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

abo I have worn this even though it's a maternity dress. It's such a nice deep red, I love it, and if you pick a size down and wrap it round it's fine.

and we all love vivienne westwood

vinauchocolat · 17/06/2010 16:04

this is a nice colour too, bit £ £ £

this is lovely colour

hobbs are normally very good for true red colours

FritziGreenEyes · 17/06/2010 16:43

What has happened to the Little London website? When I type the address I am redirected to delilahfashion. Where have all the beautiful dresses gone?

hf128219 · 17/06/2010 16:48

Very quick one for Esher I have been to the Anassa - it is lovely. Was a few years ago though.

Have you looked on www.tripadvisor.com for recent reviews?

Zembo et al. Quite agree re compliments - they are a great thing to make. I too make them regularly!

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2010 17:36

Dolce sorry went awol.

I'm not sure how much I've lost (I know, not helpful, but no scales!) and I'm not sure how much longer I'll do it. I'm very close to being how I want to be so at some point I'll just add some fruit to the equation and maintain my weight that way.

How's your first day?

hellsbelles · 17/06/2010 17:50

Esher - I've been to The Anassa (Cyprus). It was about 4 years ago. It was out of season so the kids stuff wasn't great (DS went once and refused to go back). It's quite deluxe but we didn't love it and haven't been back.

But having said that - it was quite some time ago and it may well have improved.

If you can stand a longer flight then I recommend The Residence in Mauritius. Everyone I know who's been (including us) loves it. The prices are comparable with the Anassa.

traceybath · 17/06/2010 17:57

Hey - got a compliment today. Picking up ds1 from school and celeb-mum said she liked my maxi (DP khaki stripe one) which was lovely of her as I was feeling a little out of my comfort zone as first wearing of maxi in this country.

I am soooo tired today - must be the fact that Bea is back up to waking me 3 times a night and will not take a bottle - aaaggghhh.

Shred is on its way which I'm strangely excited about. Just have to do it she says looking at the davina pregnancy dvd still in its shrink wrapping.

traceybath · 17/06/2010 18:07

Carciofi - here's the slash neck new look top I bought last week.

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2010 18:10

Bravo for compliment TraceyB (now I'm just curious which celeb mum it is )

Romanarama · 17/06/2010 18:16

bloody Liberty have just decided they don't have my red anglomania dress after all, so am buying the scoop one instead.

LetThemEatCake · 17/06/2010 18:44

Liberty did that to me too roma - teh Vince grey t-shirt dress and the brown stripey Antipodium dress. Tres disappointing.

On the plus side, got my email from NaP today saying they are holding the Chloe boots for me so am looking forward to a little (big) retail hit tonight after the dcs in bed.

Hope those of you who have bought the ASOS jumpsuit on my rec love it as much as I do!! Bought fab 'statement necklace' from Primark for £3, looks great with it. Plus beaded Antik Batiks Palmers, or the metallic Choos if going for the OTT effect ..

not so much luck with short playsuit - bought one but it's going back - have decided on general observations of other people and of myself that they are vaguely ridiculous for grown women!!

tracey yay for the compliment but sorry you are feeling so tired. Hopefully shredding will energise you

Had a 2-hour at-home beauty appt today, facial, threading, pedi ... nice. Had to watch the Wiggles for some of it but hey ho

esher DH and I had our first ever hol together in Halkidiki. Motorbike and tent though - prob not quite what you;re after

blossoming · 17/06/2010 19:16

This morning on school run wore new Jigsaw linen dress with jeggings, cardigan and mac!

By this afternoon I was so hot, I had to take the jeggings off, and you're not joking when you say it's see through!
Spanx half slip to the rescue, once again!

Off to Shred.

(I'm worried I may be giving myself bad PR. I am not Waynetta Slob drinking lagers out of a can. I was drinking 250ml bottles, poured into a glass. There.)

OP posts:
Romanarama · 17/06/2010 19:25

I bottled out of the Chloe boots when they came back in in my size. Too exxy - waiting for the Belstaffs 1/2 price instead.

V.pleased with my new boob tube dress, which I've been wearing all pm. I agree cake about playsuits. I tried on one or two but they looked like baby clothes. Alright for the beach but that's it, and even then a denim mini is better.

I'm feeling bad as called ds1 an 'idiot' when he grabbed my arm sloshing my campari on the computer. Terrible on all fronts - booze while sposed to be putting kids to bed, computer addiction, plus being unnecessarily grouchily rude to an 8yo. I did apologise profusely but still feel very mean. I'm feeling grouchy as went to bed late reading "Man's search for Meaning" by Victor Frankl which I find fascinating. Couldn't put it down until 1am and I have to be up at 6.30.

Fleecy · 17/06/2010 19:36

I think the short playsuits work (I would - I have three!) but they have to be smarter ones, not jersey beachwear style ones.

My first and favourite one is a black linen blend and is shaped a bit like this but with buttons instead of a zip.

I wear it with wedges, a belt and bangles for going out or flat metallic sandals for day wear. Either way, more glam than relaxed.

DS has a tummy bug with vomiting/diarrhea galore over the last couple of days. Had to get up every few hours through last night so I could keep trying to get fluids into him. So another grumpy one here Roman

Exciting times for you with your mum arriving and new bookts cake Happy days!

blossoming · 17/06/2010 20:29

Have started a new regime with dc1 to try and reduce the number of tantrums. I found he was only receiving negative attention while the baby was having all the positive. Have been mean to him too romanarama. So now I'm ignoring any bad attention seeking and being my most lovely to him as much as I am to the baby. Three days with no shouting from anyone and a home made card from him to me saying he loved me very much. Hope we can keep it up. He's got his first school trip tomorrow! I'm worried!!

Marsha - first day not great actually! Feeling a bit crap...tired and grouchy...sounds like a theme....It was recommended by Dr Dukan that I do 3 days on attack, but don't think I will/can (as rather wussily felt a bit faint)....I don't really want to lose masses of weight anyway..so will take it steady.

LOL at celeb-mum Tracey! Can just imagine who it is.... I actually know a few mums from that school...!!!!

Bought a nice Mango black jersey top and tangerine coloured sun top and rolled up shorts from JL today along with various cycling paraphernalia for DH for Fathers Day... !

Get you with the Campari Roma! We always end up saying something we wished we hadn't in these circumstances! Don't beat yourself up!
So do you have a bit of a birthday fest too during the summer? We do, all 5 of us have birthdays July - Oct (3 in August!!!)...v £££££££ time!!!

MarshaBrady · 17/06/2010 21:59

Ah I had that too Dolce and nearly stopped. So weird, had an apple and pear, panicked, wanted to come on here and stress but was out, thought it was due to bf'ding, panicked some more . It passed in half a day so kind of kept going tentatively. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Just watched The Good Wife, really like that show.

hf128219 · 17/06/2010 22:00

Ah yes, the Campari. Mine would be more likely a Bloss Stella.

Birthdays? Well dd was born the day before dh's 40th! Flown home especially from Afghan when I was induced.

DolceeBanana · 17/06/2010 22:05

Marsha, thanks....was feeling quite disappointed and well, like a bit of a wuss !

Stupidly I ate rather badly yesterday, i.e. not much, and then had 2 glasses of wine last night, and so none of this helps...! Must try to be more sensible in future!

A G & T would be nice right now! No, I won't!!!

DolceeBanana · 17/06/2010 22:10

Right, off to give DH a bit of attention, bless him...he's been trying to grab my attention since he came in, to no avail, sadly!

Am utterly knackered...have just ordered mahoosive shop including all Dukan necessities...so shall try to keep from falling off the wagon, Marsha!

Night all!

blossoming · 17/06/2010 22:11

Phone just rang. Headmaster of local comp asking if I wanted to teach languages there! At this time of night? Sister teaches there and had mentioned months ago he might phone. Said a tentative yes to maybe part time.
What have I done?????

OP posts:
hf128219 · 17/06/2010 22:37

Bloss On the (hopeful) presumption you can speak another language I would say it's a very good idea.

LetThemEatCake · 17/06/2010 22:59

blossoming I think that's great, you were saying you were a bit bored!!

what languages do you speak?

have had a little wobble about my Chloe boots. If Roma thinks they're too expensive then they surely have no place in my closet, especially as this winter will be my last ever. Well, my last ever really cold one anyway.
